You have nothing to fear but fear itself, is that true?

We head back to the packhouse where I say my goodbyes.

My mother is glad that I have calmed down a bit, her goodbye was easier on me.

My father on the other hand is leaning against the door frame, sadness clearly etched on his face.

"Dad," I hesitate as I inhale deeply, "I'm sorry," a warm tear clash down on my cheek as I stare up at the man that means the world to me.

I decided that Chase was right and I should head to school instead of dropping out.

Both my parents are there as they bid us farewell and wish me luck on my first day at school.

My father does not mention anything about the forest and I do not bring it up.

Chase drives us back to our apartment where I prepare myself for my first day of school. Chase yawns loudly as he crawls into our bed.

"Are you planning on driving or do you want me to take you?"

I can do this on my own.

"I was actually planning on walking to campus," the brush runs through the length of my hair as my eyes set on Chase through the mirror. Chase pulls himself up into a sitting position.
"You want to walk?" His eyebrow arches as he assesses my reaction through the mirror.

I shrug, "It's a ten-minute walk and I think I will take longer to actually find a parking spot."

"If that's what's worrying you I can take you and pick you up," gently setting the brush on the vanity I turn to face Chase.

"I want to do this on my own. You were my Shadow before you were my mate and now that my wolf is with me you don't have to worry so much."

Chase decides to drop the subject and get some sleep before my nightmares take any chance of that happening. His soft snoring would normally lull me to my own slumber but at the moment my stomach feels unsettled and my mind is racing.

What am I suppose to do for the first day of school? I don't even know anyone here. What if I get lost?

My wolf surfaces and suddenly my mind calms and she relaxes our body, nothing is going to happen as long as I am with you. Now you have to sleep! Bad enough that you look like a zombie right now.

She does not allow me to put up a fight. My wolf drags my body to our bed and before my head even hits the pillow my mind is sucked into the darkness.

"Babe," his voice gently pulls me out of my slumber, "wake up it's time for school," his weight shifts on the bed.

The sound of the curtains moving and sunlight flooding through the slit of my eyes earns a frustrating groan.

"I have coffee for me and tea ready for you. I went into town and got you a doughnut," his beaming face brightens up my attitude.

"Awe," I prop myself on my elbows as Chase is on all fours his legs and hands on either side of my legs his face a foot away from mine. "That is sweet of you."

His smile grows even bigger, "Come on."

The morning is perfect. Chase had my favorite tea waiting for me on the kitchen table with the doughnut he promised. He knows me well enough cinnamon tea with a glazed doughnut. He drank his black coffee with his chocolate doughnut. We sat there in peace and once we were done I showered and got ready.
