"Who do you think you are?" The female hisses. The anger inside of me swells up and without thinking I turn around to face her.

"Are you talking to me?" I glance around I see that there is no one else around. "Who do you think you are?" I snap back.

There are five people before me — two males and a female in front and two younger males in the back making sure that no one makes their way towards us.

One of the males in front is trying to show me who is the boss. Stepping closer to me he broadens out his shoulders and clenches his jaw.

An alpha technique that is not always true since my mother has told me about false placement. The true leader will stand back and sees what their opponent is made of while his beta or omega takes on their enemy, this is also true for humans.

"We just came to talk," the male states. His skin is like caramel and his dark eyes burn into mine.

"Talk about what?" My eyes dart between all of them going to the male before me last.

"Why are you here?" The lone female's brown hair flows with the breeze and her light brown eyes stay on me like prey.

"I'm here like the other thousands of students are here for—to learn." The sarcasm in my voice is crystal clear and the female snarls.

"She's being a smart ass," she growls at the men around her.

"Why did you come to our territory," the male says, the male next to the girl the one I believe to be the leader. His words are calm but the way he talks, with authority, has a familiar ring to it.

"Territory?"

This is a school. No one owns this place.

"You know what we are," he states.

What the actual hell?

This guy is off his rocker.

"What are you?" I ask.

A gang member?

Seriously.

"Adam, maybe she is not who we think she is," the leader says. Adam's façade starts to crumble I know he is not the leader.

"She is who we think she is," he snarls at the man, "she doesn't deceive me."

I stand my ground but I know that I am screwed as the man takes a couple of steps towards me and his stature looms over me.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I challenge him.

Is he what I think he is? Did I unknowingly walked into someone else's pack.

Holy crap!

"Stop acting naive you stupid girl." Adam haw clenches as I narrow my eye.

Melody, I think it's time to show these kids who we are.

What if they're human? My mother will have our heads!

The man takes a step towards me and I take a step back, "Who do you think I am?"

"The daughter of the rare she alpha," he bellows.

Oh, he knows. What's the point in hiding now?

"I am," the words come out of me as if I was intruding myself to these strangers, "I am the daughter of Melany and Adrian Hunter," I state.

Why lie now?

His eyes widen and his pupils dilate to the size of saucers.

"I knew it," his voice goes deeper as his body trembles.
