First of all: Thank you for choosing this story! I really, truly, honestly, and genuinely appreciate every single reader. Don't believe it? Message me! Say: "Hey! I'm reading your story!" and I'll be so exited! I'd LOVE to talk to you guys individually! I want to know what you think of my story!

Secondly (this is probably most important): I know the beginning is weak. It's on my "fix-up" list. Right now I just want to finish the story. So, please keep reading! It gets good. You'll thank me later! I don't mean to sound snotty or anything, but I've had many teachers comment on my writing style- good ones lol. So, please... Keep reading. If there's really weak parts that stick out, please tell me! I just want to make this the best story I can as it may be the ONLY story I ever write on Wattpad.

Please don't quit after the first chapter! Like wine, it gets better with time!

Thank YOU for reading. I hope you enjoy.

The summer of 2010 changed my life.

It was just a silly summer romance that I was too young and immature to cope with.

Flashback.

Monday, June 2nd, 2010

I arrived at my hotel in Charleston, West Virginia on a Monday for no other reason than to take a break from the usual hell of living a normal, scheduled life up in New York. I walk up to the line for the front desk with my suitcase and wait. A tall, very tall, boy was standing in front of me. He had shaggy, blond hair. His navy blue, long-sleeved shirt perfectly accented his khaki shorts. He was wearing dark tan, leather flip flops and had one suitcase with him as well.

I feel my phone buzz and unlock my screen to check my notifications. While I am doing this, I hear a guy behind me say, "Hey diva, get the hell off your phone and move it." I look up from my phone and see that the blonde had approached the desk and I wasn't exactly close to the "Please wait here for assistance." sign.

I turn to the man behind me to apologize. He looks like he's not much older than 30. Too young to be crabby like a 70 year old, sheesh. "I'm sorry, sir. But, was it really necessary to use that language?" I expect no reply and turn around to move forward. The blonde is leaning sideways against the desk. I fear that he had witnessed the situation and start to get embarrassed. I feel my cheeks rise in temperature.

"Hey, calm down, bro. Have some respect for ladies." The blonde said. My cheeks definitely get warmer when he says this. The guy behind us doesn't say much. I hope he's embarrassed.

The blonde looks at me and smiles, "I'm Adam," and he holds out his hand to shake mine. I nervously put my hand in his. He has a beautiful smile. He looks very imtimidating from the back because he is so tall, but his smile is one that you would find on a teddy bear-like boy. His lips were a perfectly level and straight line that rested where his teeth would meet his gums.

"I'm Adelaide."

The day I met Adam, he asked me if I wanted to go to the beach with him. Since I had no other plans, I went. It was the best day I've had in months. We talked a lot on Monday. We each revealed so much about ourselves, but, at the same time, we didn't reveal too much. Yesterday, Adam and I ate breakfeast together. It wasn't planned; I was sitting alone watching FOX News and Adam appeared and I offered for him to join me.

The weather was rainy and I was planning on going to the West Virginia Zoo at Hovatter's Wildlife Zoo in Kingwood. It was supposed to be a long drive, but I love animals and I always enjoy visiting different zoos. Adam didn't have anything going on either, so he came with me. We had a really fun time. We talked a lot again.
