I have been in a lot of turmoil the past year. I've had a crazy roller coaster ride, going from near-suicide to a lot of joy. Because of that, I asked my dear friend to write this chapter for me. I gave her the idea of what I wanted and she wrote it. She is truly an amazing person. If I knew her in real life, I'm sure we'd be amazing friends. Thanks @_life_on_the_sea (formerly, @red_gb) love you

*Addie's POV*

Friday, November 15th, 2013

"Do I finally get to come with you to work today?" I ask Jen with excitement and hopefulness. I was supposed to go in with her at work on the 3rd, but I guess they had a big deal go down and Jen and Erin thought I wouldn't have been able to be looked at and try out.

"Yes," Jen smiles, "Erin just texted me and told me that today will work perfectly. I'm so excited for you. It's going to be so fun having my best friend with me today. Take a picture with me!" Jen gets her iPhone out.

"What are we doing?" I ask.

"Hm, how about silly with a mix of crazy?"

"That's not like us at all," I say sarcastically. We make our faces and Jen takes the picture and quickly goes to her photos to see it. I crossed my eyes and clenched my teeth together while showing my teeth still. Jen had curled her upper lip up and stuck her tongue out. Her eyes were wide and possessed looking; she also made a hook with her finger to put some weirdness into it.

"This is perfect, oh my gosh!"

Jen laughs and points to me in the picture, "Your eyes don't even look real! What the heck? They're like inverted, like double cross-eyed. Look at your teeth. They're so perfect."

"Really?" I ask, looking at my teeth and feeling my teeth with my finger.

Jen puts her phone on the counter top and looks intensely at my teeth. "They're the perfect rectangle size."

I give her a weird look and ask, "What should I wear?"

"Oh, well they're probably going to check your measurements, have your try on some samples, and maybe have you walk," she says while typing on her phone, posting the picture on Instagram, "so, you can just wear something simple."

"Okay, thanks. Um, hey, Jen?"

"Yes?" She says as she officially posts our picture.

"W-what are they going to say if they see?" She gives me a confused look. "You know," I trail off.

"Oh, our measurement girl is super nice. She won't judge you. And they have cosmetics to cover up. Everything will be all right, sweetie," she reassures me.

I give her a smile of gratitude.

"We need to leave here in about five minutes, so be ready, okay?" Jen walks off to her room to get a couple things.

I sit on the couch and fiddle with a string on one of the pillows while I wait for Jen. I am nervous. My scars on my body tell a story. One that I am not to keen to tell. Was I ready to reveal all to be a model? I flipped this question over in my head.

"You ready?" I nod and follow Jen down to her car, the question still swimming in my head. Once in the car, Jen looks over at me.

"You okay?" She asks asks quietly. I shrug my shoulders, not quite knowing the answer myself.

"Addie," Jen lays a comforting hand on mine, "you'll do fine. I promise."

In this moment, I realize what I want most. I want to be a model. I want to be successful and I want to feel beautiful. I look back at Jen.
