*Addie's POV*
Wednesday, August 7th, 2013
I look at the four shopping bags as Harry, Louis, and I ride back to the apartment complex after a long day at the mall. I couldn't afford any of the stuff I bought, which explains why I wasn't the one to buy them.
*Flashback*
"Addie. Try this on. You have to!" Harry insists. It's a thin strapped bubble dress with a scoop neck. It has a flowery print and the colors are a deep red and an off-white. Really beautiful dress. Somewhat casual, but could be pulled off at a fancy event. (A/N: LOLOLOL GUYS I ACTUALLY FOUND A PICTURE THAT RESEMBLES THIS DRESS LOLOL OKAY BYE)
It's way too expensive and I'm scared that I'll fall in love with it. "No Harry, it's too expensive. I wouldn't buy it even if I absolutely loved it." I laugh, trying to make sure I didn't sound like I was hinting for him to buy it for me. I don't want people to do me any favors or treat me like charity.
"Oh well, try it on; just for grins!" Harry insists again.
"Here. This is your size. Go try it on, Adelaide!" Louis says as he grabs a small off the rack. It looks a little too small for me. I'm going to be too fat.
"I'm too big for that Louis. Can we not do this please? I can't buy it and it's fine." I protest, feeling insecure. I think I'm too fat for the small. "And how do you know my full name? Don't call me by my full name. I don't like it." I laugh, but with some seriousness in my request.
Louis and Harry start walking towards me and pushing me towards the dressing room. I keep protesting, but they keep insisting, receiving weird looks from other customers, until we reach the dressing rooms.
"She needs to try this on, please." Louis says politely. The employee smiles. I send a friendly smile back, and she leads me to a dressing room.
"Curly out there is cute," She whispers to me. "Is he seeing anyone?" She asks quickly as we reached the stall thing.
"Nope! Do you want me to tell him to get your number?" I ask simply.
"Oh my gosh! That would be amazing! You are too sweet, doll! Here's your room; great pick by the way. That dress hasn't been doing too well. Girls come in and try it on, but never buy it because it just doesn't work for them. It requires a specific petite frame; I think it'll look nice on you." She says genuinely with a smile. I say a thank you and go to into the dressing room.
After zipping it up on the side, I turn to look into the mirror.
Wow.
It looks.... good. It makes my legs look super skinny because of the way that it poofs out a little bit at the bottom of the dress that ends mid-thigh. The way the scoop neck forms around my chest- the depth of it shows just enough of my chest bones makes them so vibrant; you can't not notice how they show.
Okay. I just fell in love with a dress I can't afford. It's $769.99. Definitely can't afford it. Cannot af-
"Addie, come on! We want to see it!" I hear Louis say.
"Is her name actually Adelaide?" Harry whisper-asks.
"I heard that." I say stubbornly and start out of the dressing room.
I stand before wide eyes belonging to Louis, seducing eyes belonging to Harry, and excited eyes with a smile belonging to the employee.
"You're buying that." Harry says.
