I dedicate this chapter to FluffyBunny. My favorite character is Jace.

Declan's POV:

When I made it home I ran for my room. I didn't want to speak to anyone. I didn't want dinner. I didn't even call Megan. Once that door closed I locked it and shoved a chair under the handle for good measure. Dumping everything on the floor I lay on my bed and opened my phone. Pulling up my voice mail I replayed the message Micah left for me for the twelfth time.

I couldn't believe Micah Phillips had left a message on my phone. At work I decided to ignore the blinking light indicating I had a message. I proceed in putting in my invoices and ordering parts needed for jobs. When McClane came into the office the phone buzzed and jingled. This went on for another twenty minutes before McClane couldn't take anymore.

"Check the freakin' message already!" He shouted at me. I turned to him seeing he'd wore his work overalls and oil smudges on his cheeks. Surprisenly there was no oil or dirt near his perfect head of caramel colored curls.

"I'm trying to get this in before Dad-" Grabbing my phone he almost shoved it down my throat.
"Check this message or I will." He growled. Sliding open the voice mail box I placed the phone to my ear and listened to Micah nervously trying to leave me a message. Once I'd listen to it, McClane finished his work on the other computer and left. Once gone I replayed the message again. Then again.

It had gotten to the point I'd run my battery down and couldn't waste anymore battery my phone on. I was literally bouncing off the walls waiting for dad to tell us to go home and get ready for dinner. When I climbed into my car McClane climbed into the passenger seat.
"What are you doing?" I asked somewhat confused.

"Getting a ride home." He said. Looking over I spotted his Camaro parked in the parking lot of the garage.
"What's wrong with Frances?" I asked. Buckling up he lay his head back and closed his eyes.
"She's getting a tune up and oil change tomorrow. No need to drive her home when she had to come right back in the morning. Seemed better to leave her here over night." I nodded cranking Eleanor up.

'WHY?!?!?!' I screamed to myself. I wanted to listen to Micah's message again. I knew damn well I couldn't do that with McClane in the car or with my battery as it was. I drove as fast as I could without getting myself a ticket. McClane gripped the dashboard and door for dear life as I weaved back and forth through traffic.

"What is wrong with you?!" He yelled over the roar of Eleanor. I fed him some lame excuse about tacos for lunch and how they didn't sit well. I couldn't tell him I was rushing home to listen to my messages like a prepubescent teenage girl hyped up on Justin Bieber.

After the umpteeth time I lay back on the bed watching the ceiling.
"DECLAN!! MEGAN HAS CALLED SIX TIMES!!! CALL HER BACK!!" My mom screamed from down below.  I lay there in the mist of my daydream when my phone began to ring. Without looking at the I.D. I answered it.

"Hello." There was a pause on the other end then a cough. Sitting up some I pulled the phone away to look at the screen. Like before Micah Phillips was etched across the screen. I could feel my heart jerking into high gear.

'Why didn't I look at the screen?!' I heard him clear his throat then cough again.
"Is anyone there?" I croaked, my throat suddenly uber dry now.
"Hey, it's me... Micah... I was wondering- (BEEP) Snatching the phone away I glared at the screen. Megan's name flashed before my eyes and I gave a mental scream.

"Hey, hold on a second. Someone's on my other line." I said. I could hear him take a breath before he said okay. Clicking over I didn't even give Megan a chance to speak.
"Can't talk now. Gotta go. See you tomorrow. Bye" And with that I was clicking back over.
"I'm back." I said somewhat breathless.
