I dedicate this to everyone who reads. Rock On!!
Declan's POV:
By the time I sat down in first period I'd heard seven different versions of what happened this morning. I knew he wanted Katlin to back off I just didn't realize she was as ditsy as a do-do bird. Mrs. Rackland sailed through Chemistry, jumping from one topic to another. I didn't mind since I was in an advance class. I didn't have to take Chemistry again but I needed to fill my schedule up.Since I was a science kind of guy I chose to retake it again. One of the perks ot being academically gifted I could could pick up and learn faster than the others. I was already done with all my Maths and Sciences. All I had left was History and English. Finishing my work in record time I started on my senior presentation. While researching my topic I felt my phone vibrating. Pulling it from my pocket I noticed Megan had left me a text.
'U busy?' Rolling my eyes I started my reply. She knew I wasn't busy as well as I knew she wasn't busy. Like me Megan chose to take History over again to fill her schedule. She already had two elective chosen so she had to pick another academic class.
'No, what's up?' There was a long pause before my screen lit up again.
'Laurie Tyler just gave me a note from Sean. He wants to take me on a date.' I didn't know what to write. I mean I thought it was great news. Most of the guys are afraid of Megan. She had the mind of therapist and the body of a petite Sports Illustrated model. Her smooth caramel skin with her startling green eyes made her a very intimidating young woman. And when you factor in her mother was a Russian supermodel who traveled the world taking her daughter jet setting all over the globe that didn't make matters any better.
I met Megan for the first time McClane and I were in the park playing soccer. She was seated in the grass not too far from us. When McClane kicked the ball, he over did it and sent it sailing through the air hitting Megan in the back of her head. After the shock had worn off we went to see if she was alright. Picking herself off the ground she turned to us and glared at McClane.
"I am going to kill you." She hissed as she launched herself at him. It took me a minute to pry her off him, when I did he was sporting a bloody nose, bruises around his eyes and cuts along his jaw. I knew she would make an excellent best friend and we've been in each other's lives ever since.
'That's awesome. When does he want to go?' I text back. Pulling open my art page I scanned through the images when I felt my phone buzzing again.
'April 23rd.' Why did he want to wait practically an entire month before for a date? That was crazy. I was about to tell Megan exactly what I thought when I went back to the text. April 23rd... why was April 23rd so important to me? That's when I glanced up to the poster board above the computer station. Fliers about the prom hung there with the theme and date staring at me in the face. Again my phone buzzed.
'When I read the date I was happy then I remembered about my promise 2 U. If U want I can just go with U.' Closing my eyes I cursed Megan. She was doing the self sacrifice bullshit and throwing on a heap of guilt for good measure. Even though I really wanted to go with someone I was comfortable with I did as she told me and manned up.
'Your dad will never let U go so I'll pick U up and we'll meet Sean there. I'll ask some1 else.' I could taste the bile in my mouth as I sent that message back. I didn't want to open up that can of worms. Not to say all the girls here were whores... just 78% of them are. Then there was the 13% that are criminals... actual criminals. The majority were on parole or probation. Then you have 7% that are the I wanna be seen, I wanna be heard, I wanna be popular. You know the ones who try too hard to make people like them. Lastly would be my girls Megan and Laurie. They were the only reasonable sane and non-whorish girls attending Murphy Kennedy.
