Micah's POV:
I sat there staring at the phone watching it ring for the longest time. I knew who it was. I knew if I answered it would along support his delusions that we were meant to be together. I gave a sigh of relief when it stopped. I could see my sister Harper giving me a look but I ignored it. I didn't want to scare her with my problems. She already thought I was doing drugs.
Me coming home at all hours, being secretive and never talking about my day any more has her wondering about me. I heard her tell dad she thinks this new kid I've befriend isn't good news. She says all she wants to do is meet him. I refuse because I like Declan... a lot. I don't want my sister coming in DESTROYING any chance I have at a great guy. My phone has started up again. Sighing she tossed her book aside and stood from the sofa.
"Please answer it Mike. It's annoying." Looking up I shook my head and went back to my show.
"It's Katlin. I don't want to talk." I lied. I could see Harper eyeing me as she frowned then headed for the front window. Spotting Seven with his friends she sat back down.
"Crazy is still calling you?" Nodding I grinned. Crazy was Harper's new nickname for Katlin ever since I told her she attacked the librarian Mrs. Lieberman.
"She wants to go to prom together." Stretching out on the sofa Harper chuckled.
"She does know you aren't together anymore right?" Shrugging my shoulders I looked t to her.
"I made it perfectly clear we weren't but as you can see..." After that Harper didn't say anything else about the phone. When six hit Harper was about to call Seven in when he came bursting through the front door with a huge robotic looking toy in hand.
"Hey sweetie... where did you get that from? Did Callum leave that here when he left to go home?" Shaking his head Seven ran over and jumped onto my lap. The toy looked brand new like someone had just taking it out of the box.
"Uncle Mike's friend gave it to me." Both Harper and I looked at each other. What friend?
"Declan came by the house?" I asked. Shaking his head no Seven looked up at me with his matching hazel blue eyes.
"Was it Sean?" Harper asked her voice held a tiny bit of fear in it.
"No... he said his name was Tedd Winters." Tedd Winters? I didn't know anyone named Tedd Winters. Seven went back to playing with the toy when I shook my head at Harper letting her know I didn't know who Tedd was.
"Where did you see Tedd?" I asked Seven. I pressed a button on the toy and waited for him to pull his attention from it.
"He came by when I was outside playing. He said he had a present for me. He said he was sorry he couldn't be here when I have my birthday party so he wanted to make sure I got my present. Isn't it cool?!" Seven said excitedly. I could feel myself panicking now. Some strange guy gave my nephew a present. Some guy saying he was sorry he couldn't come to his birthday party he wasn't even invited to.
"Did he get in a car to leave or did he walk away?" I asked. Harper looked at me like I was crazy but it was an important question. If he walked away he lived close to here. That meant it would be easier to find him and have the police pick his ass up. If it was a car we could get Seven and the other kids to describe what it looked like.
"He got into a jeep. It was cool.... " Oh my GOD....no. I must have made a noise because Harper was now standing. I didn't want to look at her because she would see the look in my eyes. She would see my panic.
"Hey Seven... do me a favor and go get me a soda. You can get a juice box. I hold your toy." I said. Hopping down Seven ran to the kitchen as I started to look the toy over.
"Say something." Harper hissed.
"His name isn't Tedd Winters. It was Todd." I said. I couldn't find anything on the toy. There wasn't any compartment or anything he could have hidden anything.
"Todd.... do you mean Todd Todd... the same Todd from..." Nodding I watched Harper's eyes get big.
"I saw him... apparently he thinks he's in love with me. That me almost killing him was me saying I love you too. He's the one calling on the phone, not Katlin." Shaking her head Harper walked away then back. At that moment Seven carefully came in with my soda in one hand and juice box in the other.
