Chapter twenty

I could feel something soft tapping my cheek. Grumbling, I slapped the hand away and pulled the covers around my figure tightly. You would think that on Spring Break they would allow you to sleep in, right? Guess my tapper had other ideas. I tried to zone out the murmuring voices above my head. Just as I was about to fall back into my deep slumber, I felt a huge weight land on top of me.

My eyes shot open, as I tried to push the lug of a weight off me. A patch of long hazel hair and a flash of teeth came into my vision. I groaned, “What the hell? Megan? Get the heck off me. You’re a fatass you know that?”

Shooting me a glare, Megan wrapped her arms and legs around me, making it impossible to throw her off of me. However, that didn’t mean I didn’t try. I tried kicking and squirming, even biting her, but nothing made her move. It only earned me a couple more glares and Megan tightening her grip, causing me to slightly wheeze. Man, this girl has got quite a death grasp. Eventually I started rolling, which only resulted with us both falling to the ground, hitting the wooden floor face first.

I rubbed my forehead, “Damnit Megan. What the hell is wrong with you? I deserve to be able to sleep in! And god, lose a couple of pounds, before you body slam someone in their sleep.” I punched Megan on the shoulder, playfully, of course. Note the sarcasm.

It was then, that I was aware of the laughter around us. What in the world? I spun around my room and there they were. The three boys I love and hate so much. My bother    Killian   and his friends    Jonah and Seth. This is the second time they woke me up this year and I swear the revenge will not be taken lightly this time.

“That was hilarious.” Seth commented.

“Did you . . . see . . . that? Talk . . . about a . . . cat fight. “Jonah said, between laughs.

“I love you, Megan.” Killian added.

Chuckling herself, Megan said, “Well, I’m glad you all enjoyed the show. And Killian, I’m already taken and I don’t think Jessa will approve of our relationship. Our love will never be.”

“Ha, ha,” I feigned in an amused tone, “ very funny. You better hurry up and tell me the friggen reason you woke me up. It better be good too, otherwise say goodbye to your pretty faces.”

Jonah was the first to answer, “Awww, she thinks we’re pretty. “

“The reason we woke you up?” Killian said.

Then they started counting down, and at number one they all shouted, very loudly, may I add, “ HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY JESSA SURTHA!”

Me, only being awake for a couple of minutes was caught off guard by the sudden raise of noise. After getting over the shock I said, “What? No. My birthday isn’t today. Oh, wait, maybe it is. Okay then, eighteen. I’m a year older than when I was seventeen. Yippee!”

Then I fell back onto my bed, throwing my pillow over my head. Sadly, they wouldn’t let me have my peaceful sleep.

I don’t know how, but some way I ended up being thrown over Killian’s shoulder and carried down the hallway. Killian put me back on my feet once we entered the washroom. Before I could process anything, Killian smacked the door closed behind him and his muffled voice spoke, " You are not getting out of there until you look like a girl. An ugly one at that. Following that, you will eat breakfast. Then, we have plans." I could hear the devilish smile that must be tugging at his lips.

Usually, I would've yelled at him saying I wasn't ugly, but my mind was off to plans. Plus, it seems that Megan has taken over the ugly comment. I could hear Killian wheeze an 'ouch' as Megan hit him somewhere. That's my girl. I smiled. Eh? Plans. Couldn't be too bad, right? Guess I'll have to find out.
