~Chilled's POV~
"Fuck you, fuck you, and fuck you." Curious I poke my head out to see what the source of the voice is coming from and find a man being dragged around by two police shouting at everyone, spitting out at everyone with wide eyes. Despite his struggling the police have got him completely under control and not a single police are worried about the insane man. I lean on my doorway, watching the man as his voice is drowned out as soon as the door to the office shuts behind him leaving the rest of us to just laugh at the insane man. Some are spooked out of course by seeing the insane man looking at everyone as if he would murder them, but for the most part we're used to a couple of psychopaths every now and then. Looking around I meet eyes with Sark momentarily, leaning against the door frame of his office across the way. I turn away immediately afterwards and look at empty space for a moment before shutting the door to my office despite it being glass making it so he can still see me but I just ignore it and sit in my chair.
Ever since the entire Nanners situation died down and there has been no more thefts ever since that day I've been avoiding Sark. Although that's hard to do considering he's my fucking boss but I've been a lot more professional with him instead of the casual conversations we always used to have whenever I was sent to his office. Of course, this means I've been doing every bit of my work to the best of my ability because I've been avoiding any sort of necessary conversation with him. It isn't that I all of the sudden hate him because of how he dealt with the entire situation, but more than that, I'm afraid of him. With the snap of his fingers he can get Adam caught and detained, he could order me to tell him who Nanners was because he has clear evidence I know having told him straight out. Now, without a doubt, Sark is the least intimidating guy I know but he's the most intimidating detective I know as well. Biting at the edge of my thumb I stare blankly at the computer screen but shake my head and continue working before someone complains about me slacking off again.
"Hey Chilled, don't think I didn't see that bullshit you pulled." Hearing the voice I groan to myself in dread but just glance over to Sark and smile innocently.
"What bullshit are you talking about? I've pulled a lot of bullshit," I tease and he just raises and eyebrow and shrugs, smirking playfully.
"Well that is true," he comments causing me to glare but he just chuckles and pulls the chair across my desk in front of me and sits down, his light eyes inspecting me fully. "But I'm talking about the shy schoolgirl eye contact shit you pulled. What is it? Why are you avoiding your own boss? You know this doesn't look good on your resume."
"What are you talking about? I just didn't want to make you think I was hitting on you, obviously."
"Yeah, uh huh. We all know what kind of guy you're into and it's definitely not me." I roll my eyes and glance over at my screen quickly before turning back towards Sark, feeling like I'm definitely being interrogated. "So... what's up Chilled? What's got your panties in a bunch?"
"It's nothing. How do you know it's not just a headache I have because of that memory shit?" I'm basically making up excuses for nothing at this point. Sark raises an eyebrow, clearly seeing this but shrugs and smirks, seeming to take amusement in my own pain. No wonder he was one of Adam's best friends when he was here, they're both terrible people.
"Yeah, yeah, blame the memories. Seriously, it's been weeks, get over Adam already. He's gone," Sark says causing me to look away from him more as a way to flinch at how easy it is for him to see right through me. "Chilled... Chilled look at me buddy," Sark orders and hesitantly I look to him. "He wasn't healthy for you, falling for Nanners was a mistake. And even then you knew Adam would leave you eventually, you fell for him despite knowing this." I stare at him then cross my arms, sitting back.
