"Let's go," Lexis says, walking into the passage. He picks up his coat and shrugs it on.
I follow behind him. "Go where? We were just out."
"Boss wants me for something."
"So why do I have to come?"
He sighs, opening the door. "Because you have to."
I cross my arms over my chest defiantly. "I don't have to do anything."
"Faye," he groans. "Please don't do this now."
"Tell me why I have to come."
"Because I fucking want you to, okay? Now will you please come over here so we can go."
I roll my eyes but walk closer. Once I'm in front of him, Lexis takes something out of his pocket and attaches it around my wrist before I can see what it is. "Are you fucking kidding me? Get this handcuff off of me right now!"
Lexis yanks on the handcuff, pulling me forward and shutting the door behind me. "You know I have to."
"I hate you so fucking much. So so fucking much," I growl, trying to dig my feet into the ground to stay put but Lexis just keeps on walking forward without hesitation.
He nods his head. "Hate you too, Cupcake."
...
"Stay here," Lexis warns, "don't go anywhere."
I lift up the hand that's handcuffed to the door handle of the car. "It's not like I can even if I wanted to."
"I'll be back."
"Your poop nugetty ass better be quick," I mumble, sighing when I'm left alone in the car.
With nothing to do, my mind kind of just replays everything from the past few days. I had been abducted by an asshole, reunited with Flynn and made friends with a crazy ass Muslim girl.
In a sense, it was kind of nice to have someone to be with. Ever since Flynn left, I was on my own. I didn't have many 'friends' in school and those I did have couldn't even be classified as friends. More like people I hung out with to avoid going home.
I had finished my GCSE's a month ago and the camping trip I was supposed to go on was a goodbye trip seeing as next year my class would've left for sixth form.
My parents gave no shits about me or my GCSE's. I don't even think they know next year I'm off to sixth form. My results are meant to come late August and I'm honestly scared shitless to see what they are.
I'm not dumb, but I wouldn't say I was smart either. I just hope I did well enough to get into a good sixth form so I can do my A levels and then hopefully leave to a good University.
"Well, hello there," a voice I recognise to be Chase's says, snapping me out of my little daze.
My head whips to the right and I find Chase in the car, a smirk plastered on his face, sitting in the drivers seat. "What the fuck are you doing here?"
"Just happened to be passing by," he chuckles, his finger trailing around the steering wheel, "when I noticed a familiar red head in an even familiar car handcuffed to the door."
"Get out," I growl, curling my uncuffed hand into a fist, "Now."
"Aww, why?" He asks in mock confusion. "I thought we had a special connection."
"The only connection we're going to have is my hand punching you across your fucking face."
Chase laughs. "Now why would you do that when I have the key to unlock that handcuff around your wrist?" He asks, a devilish smile plastering his face.
"Bullshit. You don't."
"Oh, really?" He digs into his pocket and brings out a tiny metal key. "What might this be then? The key to my diary?"
"Could be."
"Let's find out." He tilts his head towards my wrist, "May I?"
"No, get the fuck away from me," I snap, pointing my finger at him in warning.
He shakes his head, tutting. "I'm only trying to help you."
"I don't want your fucking help. Piss off out of here."
"Guess I'm going to have to do this the hard way." He sighs. Chase looks behind my head and nods. Suddenly, the door behind me opens with a force strong enough that my body flies back with it, since I'd positioned myself against it, my ass landing on the floor painfully.
"What-" I start but get cut off when a meaty hand covers my mouth and another meaty hand clamps down on my right wrist. Chase gets out of the car and comes around, bending down. He's about to put the key into the handcuff when a gun shot goes off.
All heads turn to the noise to find Lexis with Damien behind him, both armed with guns and both pointing at Chase.
"You have five seconds to back the fuck away from her," Lexis growls, walking forward. "One." He shoots at the spot right next to Chase's foot. "Two." Chase raises his hands up in surrender. "Three." He stands up. "Four." He walks back, the guy that had his hand around my mouth and on my wrist following after him. "Fi-" Bang!
I place my hand over my mouth to contain a scream as the dead body of meaty-hand guy falls to the floor.
Chase chuckles from behind me. "That wasn't very nice. We moved away."
"Get your fucking scrawny ass out of here right fucking now before I blow your fucking brains out," Damien threatens, voice low and deep.
Chase immediately turns and runs, not even sparing a glance at his accomplice shot dead on the floor.
"Faye?" Lexis calls, tucking his gun into the waist band of his jeans and moving towards me. I don't reply, just keep my shaking hand over my mouth and head down.
"I'll leave you to deal with this," Damien says. "Don't worry about the body, I'll get someone out to clean that up."
Lexis nods. "Okay, thanks boss."
Damien nods and turns around. He walks back into the building and Lexis kneels down in front of me. "Faye?"
I tug at my hand still handcuffed to the door and Lexis gets the message, unlocking it. He helps me up and sits me down in the car, shutting the door and going around to his side.
I don't know why the death of meaty-hand guy has affected me like this. When I saw the death of the other guy Lexis killed, everything was fine. I guess my tolerance of seeing people getting shot dead is one.
"Faye?" He tries again then sighs when he realises he isn't going to get an answer and starts the car. "Let's just go home," he says.
That isn't my home, I want to say but I just bring my knees up to my chest and look out the window, realising for the first time that I don't have a home.
