Taking a deep breath, I push the gates open and walk down the familiar path.

It's been five months since Flynn's death - almost five since his burial - and I haven't visited since. It wasn't that I didn't want to - because I did - it was that I couldn't.

The wound was still open, the pain was still there, the ache in my heart ever present.

Recently though, it was getting easier. No more nights spent crying over what could've been, wide awake because all I could see was that moment and nothing else.

Now there was a soothing voice calming me down, a constant reminder that I didn't have to deal with this all alone, arms to wrap around me and hold me close during the night.

I continue down the path to where he's buried. When the gravestone comes into a view, I stare down at it.

Flynn Krimmer
June 18th 1997-May 26th 2015
Awesome cousin and amazing best friend.
Will live on forever because no one will be able to forget him.

Turns out Flynn had been all prepared for a death he'd said to be inevitable. A couple weeks after he'd left, he'd written a will and what he wanted his funeral to be like. He'd handed it to Lexis who apparently swore on the life of Alisha ("I wouldn't lie about that because Flynn and I both know if she'd die because of us, she'd come back and haunt our asses," Lexis explains.) that he wouldn't open it until the time comes.

The second I saw the carefully folded piece of paper with his scraggly yet somehow neat handwriting on top, I lost it - it wasn't at all unusual for me to lose it considering for the first couple months, every single thing that reminded me of Flynn brought up a fresh wave of tears.

With shaky hands, I'd unfolded it and choked up on every line, laughing through the tears at how Flynn-like the whole thing was;

My will and funeral wishes:

If you do all the things below than I deem you an amazing person and will love you forever (don't know if that'll motive you seeing as I'll be dead but you can't say no to a dead person now can you?).

Firstly, I have shit to give. But all that I do have, I'd like Faye Krimmer (my cousin) to have (and yes, that includes the 'One Hundred And One Knock Knock Jokes Guaranteed To Make You Knock Your Socks Off!' book I never allowed you to have, Faye).

-Lexis, you can have the honour of knowing me (sorry mate, I've got nothing else to give).

-Alisha, you can take all the crap I've left in your room (except for the money I've hidden into your Larry pillow, give that to my cousin for me, will you?).

And that's it for my will, so onto my dream funeral.

I really, really hate big events with random people I've never met before turning up - I've never understood the need for them either - so keep it small. Maybe just family (and by family I mean Faye, her parents and my parents if they give enough shits to turn up to their dead son's funeral. I don't count on it, though), Lexis and Alisha.

Get me a cool looking coffin (optional, I don't know shit about coffins or if they have cool ones), and get the people recently mentioned above to write cool messages on it (no dick drawing, Lexis and no Larry quotes, Alisha. Actually fuck it, do what you like).
