"Let go of me," I mumble, eyes cast down after his confession. I didn't know what to think. I didn't know what to feel.

Yes you do, he's a murderer.

Lexis sighs but let's go of one of my wrists, tugging at the other one as he leads me to the car. He opens the passenger door and waits for me to get in.

"Faye-" Alisha starts from the back.

"Don't," I say, looking out of the window. Lexis goes around to the drivers seat and starts the car, driving off.

...

The whole car ride back had been in silence. No one had attempted to start a conversation apart from Flynn in the beginning who asked if I was okay, which, I wasn't. I ignored him.

I was placed in the passenger seat next to Lexis and the whole ride his eyes kept glancing from me to the road and it annoyed the living shit out of me yet I said nothing.

I didn't have anything to say-- which was a first. Questions kept swirling around in my head.

Why should I care about what he said? Why did I care? Why did I care that he likes me, even though the thought alone is absurd? Why did my heart beat faster after hearing his confession? Where did I put the toy from my Happy Meal?

I had to keep reminding myself he was a killer. A cold-blooded killer; a murderer. And you can't have feelings for a murderer.

Also, Flynn chucked my toy away.

As soon as we reach Lexis' house, I'm out of the car and heading straight to the door. I realise I don't even have keys to open the damn thing and so I wait for Lexis to come open it.

Seconds later, I'm running up the stairs, into my 'room' and slamming the door shut behind me. Though I have no way of locking it seeing as it locks from the outside.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" I mutter, leaning against the door and sliding down it, bringing my legs up to my chest.

I just want everything to go back to the way it was before all this happened. I'd even take being stuck in a room with my parents for the rest of my life over this.

And it's only been a few days.

A soft knock sounds from the other side of the door and with a heavy sigh, I get up and lie on the bed. "Who is it?"

"Just me," Alisha says.

"I don't know any 'just me's so if you would kindly leave me alone, that would be great," I call back. I know I'm being rude, but I'm still angry at her for not agreeing to let me go-- though what she said made sense and I ended up doing it anyway.

Alisha sighs. "Can I come in?"

"No."

"I'm coming in anyway." She pushes the door open and enters, hesitantly taking a seat on the edge of 'my' bed.

I turn over and shove my face in the pillow and ask, "What's the point in asking if you're going to come in anyways?" except it's more muffled.

"I don't know."

It's silent for a while before I hear Alisha sigh again and turn my head to look at her.

"I'm sorry, Faye."

"You have nothing to be sorry for," I mumble out, avoiding her eyes. The sad look on her face was making me feel guilty-- about what, I'm not sure. Maybe for being a bitch.
