It All Started Like This... (Eren X Mikasa)

Chapter 11: This Is It!

Eren's POV:

"That was a good lunch," I told myself while getting back to Mikasa's room. I sat on the bench outside the door and once again waited for Mikasa. While time passed, I just thought about Mikasa's past. I didn't expect to hear it from her mom, but I should have seen that coming when she asked me if I wanted to hear some stories about Mikasa.

My thoughts were interrupted when a doctor with a clipboard came out of the room. He turned to me and asked, "Do you want to see Mikasa now? She is in better condition and visitors are allowed now."

I nodded and he led me inside the room. Mikasa was on the bed and was hooked up to a bunch of monitors like the ones you see in the movies and stuff.

Anyway, Mikasa was awake. She smiled when she saw me. The doctor left and closed the door behind him leaving me and Mikasa alone together.

"I'm glad to see that you are okay Mikasa," I said, sighing in relief.

"Yeah. Thanks for saving me Eren."

"It's all right. As long as you are safe." I sat down on a stool next to Mikasa.

"So, Eren. How long have I been in here?" she asked.

"Only since last night," I replied. "Did the doctors tell you when you might make a full recovery?"

"About one to two days. It should be very soon. I'll be back in time for school."

"That's great!" I exclaimed. I stood up and hugged her. I could feel her heart beating and it just made me feel hot. A little red even. At this moment, I realized something.

"Hey, Mikasa?" I asked.

"What?"

"I know this may be random but when you do get back to school, will you listen to what I have to say?"

"Sure," she replied.

"Thanks!" I told her. "I'm sorry Mikasa, but I have to get going. My parents are going to worry about me if I don't return home."

"That's fine. I'll see you at school anyway," she grinned.

"Alright then. I hope I see you again at school!" I waved and she just waved back. I shut the door behind me and went back home.

Mikasa's POV:

When Eren left, I sighed. Did he hear my heart beating fast? I may have been thinking too much about him and it felt like I was hot when we were hugging.

Anyway, I was alone again. I just quietly thought to myself about what Eren was saying. What does he want to tell me when I'm back at school? It's such a mystery... Oh wait.

Maybe he wants to talk about what happened earlier in class? The thought of it just made my heart beat faster (refer back to Chapter 5).

Does he want to ask me out for real? I mean, I would be happy about it but I'm too nervous! If he does ask me and I say yes, will the same thing happen last time? Will it just be like when I was with Jean or Levi?

I just shook my head and stopped thinking about it. I lied back down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. I sighed once more and fell asleep...

Eren's POV:

"I'm home!" I shouted. I closed the door behind me and put my shoes aside. I walked into the kitchen where my mom and dad were waiting for me.

"Is Mikasa okay?" asked my mom.

"Yeah. She'll recover in about a day or two."

"I'm so glad. We thought something worse happened to your girlfriend."

"No. Only some minor wounds and bruises. It wasn't much to worry about."

"Then why were you at the hospital for 14 hours?!" Dad asked sarcastically.

"That's because... well..."

"It's because he is loving and caring of Mikasa! Isn't that right?" mom interrupted.

"Yeah. I just couldn't say it..." I agreed while my dad sighed.

"Okay then. Just wash up and do your homework. It may be Saturday but we want you to stay on top of things."

"I know," I replied. I went upstairs to take a shower. It was still the afternoon but I just wanted to get back into my pajamas but I had to be clean first.

-Monday Morning (At School)-

I arrived early again and looked for Armin. I found him lying down underneath the tree in the back of the quad.

"Hey Armin!" I greeted him.

"Hey Eren! How are you doing?"

"Doing great! But I have something to ask of you."

"Let me guess," he started. "You want my advice on something."

"How did you know?" I asked him. I was shocked that he got it right.

"I can read your mind Eren. Haven't we been buddies for a long time?"

"Yeah..."

"So what do you what do you want to ask me Eren?" I leaned in and whispered into his ears.

"Oh, really? You want to ask her now?" he remarked.

"So, advice?" I questioned.

"Advice... what should be my advice to you? Hmm..." He thought about it hard. It looked like it was really serious though. He looked up at me and smiled. He stood up and asked me, "Do you want to hear my advice?"

"Yeah." He sighed.

"Eren... JUST DO IT!!!" he yelled imitating Shia LaBeouf. Some of the students looked at us and I felt embarrassed.

"You know, you didn't have to do that. Let alone imitating Shia LaBeouf," I told him calmly.

"Come on. It was fun but true. You just have to do it."

"All right..." I sighed.

-After School-

Mikasa's POV:

Eren told me to go to the back of the school under the tree. I'm wondering now what he wants to tell me.

I walked through the hallways and got outside to the tree where Eren was just lying down beneath it.

"You're here!" he exclaimed.

"Well, obviously. You told me to come here." I retorted. "What was it you wanted to tell me?"

"Actually I wanted to ask you something not tell you. But anyway, will you just listen?"

"Sure," I replied. He sighed and started talking again.

"You know these last few days, you didn't need much protecting so now I'm wondering what Jean and Levi are up to. But if they stop entirely and you don't need protection anymore, I'll always stay with you."

"Well, of course! You are still my friend-"

"That's not what I'm talking about. Ever since the first time we met and asking me to be your pretend boyfriend, I started to actually like you."

"So when you said you like me in class the other day-" I recalled.

"Yeah. I meant it at the time. But I was too nervous to tell you. So here is what I want to ask you..." Is he really going to ask what I think he is about to ask?
