Chapter 16: Mikasa's Birthday (Special)

-Midnight-

Armin's POV:

"Ring, ring"

The phone.... I don't want to pick it up..... I'm still so sleepy......

"RING, RING" The phone doesn't know when to give up, huh? I grumpily got out of bed and walked over to my bookcase where the phone was. I didn't recognize the number but then again, I was still sleepy. I finally picked it up.

"Hello?...Zzz....," I answered. I was falling back to sleep again until the guy on the phone yelled. it was then I realized who was calling.

"Oh! It's you! What do you have for me this time?" I asked. The guy on the phone kept talking pointless chatter but there was some important information.

"Really?" I was astonished. What this guy told me gave me a brilliant idea!

"Thanks a lot!" I hung up and started dialing Eren. The guy on the phone earlier is a good guy. He just has way too many friends that he gains a lot of info on other people. He is not a stalker though. Otherwise the police would have already put him in jail.

"Hello? Armin? Why are you calling me so late at night?" Eren asked angrily.

"Hey Eren! I just received some valuable info which gave me the idea of a plan you could do to win Mikasa even more!"

"What?"

"Just kidding!" I replied. "But this is really important or Mikasa might hate you before you guys even have your first date! You know you should move your date to Valentines Day! It would be more romantic!

"Okay! Okay! So what is it that you want to talk about Armin?"

"Well, Mikasa's birthday is on February 10 (True Fact) and as you can see it's almost right around the corner and a few days before your date. If you don't get her something special, she'll surely question whether you should be her girlfriend or not."

"I got it Armin. Alright? I'm thinking of something but thanks anyway for the info!"

"Any time!" I said before hanging up. I smirked in the dark and went back to bed.

-The Next Morning-

Eren's POV:

I woke up still feeling very tired because of Armin's call last night. However, thanks to that I'm able to prepare early for Mikasa's birthday and get her something really special. I looked at the calendar and realized I had two days left before the birthday. I was going to have to think of something.... and fast.

I rushed downstairs after doing my usual morning routine and ate breakfast as usual. I was about to run out the door when my mom called out.

"Hey Eren! Are you going to be busy after school?" she asked.

"Why?"

"Your father will be stuck at work until late at night and I need some certain beauty products that you can only get at the mall," she replied.

"Huh? Why can't you get it?"

"I'm going to have guests over for a meeting. Also, I ran out of my products which I need for tonight."

"That really doesn't make any sense but fine. I'll go get those "certain" beauty products. By the way, what beauty products do you need?" I asked her.

"Well, I'm going to need some red lipstick from L'Japan and some deluxe shampoo from Tokyo And Bath Shop in the mall.

"What's so special about those? Can't you just get them for cheaper at Wall-Maria or something?" I asked curiously.

"No! It's very important for me. Just go get it after school."

"Fine," I replied grumpily.

-At School-

Mikasa's POV:

I finally remembered and now I'm going to tell Eren that my birthday is coming soon. Though, I wish he already knew and prepared a surprise for me but I didn't tell Eren or anyone else about my birthday except for Jean and Levi but I hardly doubt they would tell Eren and are probably thinking of something mischievous right now.

I sighed and sat down on a bench as soon as I got to the school. I decided to wait for Eren and tell him before class started. It's kind of amazing how all of this started weeks ago with that one book that I really wanted but it was still fun. I started to daydream about those past weeks and almost didn't noticed when Eren arrived.

"Mikasa!" Eren ran over to me and sat down next to me.

"Hey Eren! So hey listen-" I was cut off by him.

"First Mikasa, I have to ask you. Do you want to go to the mall with me?" I just looked at him in awe.

"Huh? But didn't you already ask me out on a date?" I recalled.

"I did, but this is different. My mom gave me some errands to run or more specifically, shopping at the mall. She need's these "certain" beauty products-"

"Are you mocking beauty products?" I asked cutting him off.

"What? No! It's just that these products she mentioned, I feel like you can just get it at Wall-Maria or some other cheaper store," he remarked.

"That's not always the case Eren. There are some special products like limited or rare lipsticks from France or tea tree shampoo from the amazon. Or even hair gel from Tokyo!"

"Okay Mikasa! I get your point. Do you want to go or not?"

"Yeah I do!" I replied instantly. "Anyway Eren-"

I was again cut off, but this time it was the bell signaling it was time to head to class.

"What were you going to say Mikasa?"

"Nevermind. I'll tell you later," I replied.
