Chapter 26: It All Started Like This...

Eren's POV:

"Eren, wake up." I'm hearing strange voices... I just groaned and turned to the other side of the bed.

"Hey Eren! Wake up!" Now the voices are getting louder... I sat up from my bed and reached over to turn the lamp on. As soon as the lights turned on, I could see clearly that Mikasa was sleeping right next to me. My face turned red and I got out of the bed.

"Mikasa, uhh, what are you doing?" I asked her. She sighed and sat up.

"Didn't you want to see how I was doing?" She tilted her head and looked at me like I was supposed to be happy or something.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" I questioned her. She simply shook her head and got out of bed.

"It's time for you to see me... I have to get going." She walked over to the door and opened it. The other side was just white, and it was shining brightly.

"Wait Mikasa!"

"I'll see you Eren!" She entered the white light and closed the door behind her.

"Mikasa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"AH!" I jolted from my bed.... wait, this isn't my bed. This is.... a hospital bed.... Is that why I got the same dream I did when Mikasa was in the hospital? I looked at myself and saw that I was in the hospital robe; my bulletproof vest was off and I was hooked up with a bunch of tubes to some machines.... almost like Mikasa was before.

"Hey sleepyhead! Don't go dying on me, Baka!"

I turned around to see Mikasa sitting on the chair next to me. 

"Oh, sorry Mikasa. I didn't get the chance to tell you before Jean stabbed me."

"That's alright..... Baka." I hugged her tightly as she sobbed into my shoulders.

-A Few Days Later-

Mikasa's POV:

I wrapped the red scarf around me and walked out the door. The air felt fresher and the scenery seemed more beautiful. Everything was more colorful and vivid. It's amazing how everything can change in just a few days.

I skipped along the way to Black Cat Cafe where Levi and Eren planned to meet up. I was about to enter through the door when I remembered about Erza's Cake Shop. I still had coupons that were valid. I decided to get cake for both of them.

When I got to choose which cakes I wanted, I noticed that there was a special one for couples. I decided to order one of those and a small cake for Levi.

But anyway, with the cakes in hand, I took a step into the cafe and looked around for Eren and Levi. They were sitting in the back near the window. It seems like they had already ordered some coffee as well.

"Hey guys!" I said cheerfully as I sat down to Eren. I kissed Eren on forehead and showed him the cakes. 

"That's amazing!" he exclaimed. It made me feel so happy. 

"Hey what about me? I don't have a girlfriend and it looks like you guys aren't going to share that cake!" Levi pointed out.

"Oh yeah! Of course I didn't forget about you Levi! Here!" I gave him the small cake which was cut into 6 pieces.

"Why thank you!" Levi said munching down on it. 

"Hey Mikasa, you heard what happened to Jean?" Eren asked.
