"Get this dress, please!", Cathy begged shoving a short skimpy blue dress
"Where the hell am I going to wear that?!", I asked holding the piece of cloth in front og me "I can't fit this"
"It can fit you and wear it to your party", she replied rolling her eyes and I laughed
"Do you realize that my father will be at this party? He will claw out anyone's eyes if they look at me", I stated and she nodded, she knew he was overprotective "and don't pick my dresses for me, we have two different definitions of style"
"What is that supposed to mean?", she asked glaring at me and I gave her a polite smile
"It means I like classy and you like scandalous", I explained and she growled
"So you're saying I'm never classy!"
"I love you Cathy!", I smiled hugged her and she pinched "ow! Bitch!"
"I love you too", she winked and walked off

"Are you happy? Can we go home now?", I asked as we sat in the food court eating burgers and milkshakes "I'm pretty sure these bags can't even fit in the car"
"Ugh! God, you're so grumpy", Cathy groaned and stood "but if you want to go home let's go". I raised my eyebrow at my beta, this wasn't like her. She always dragged me around the mall when I complained. We both stood and my chair hit someone
"Shit, I'm sorry about that!", I sighed turning around seeing a good looking man, I gave the evil eye at Cathy who smiled innocently. She knew I would hit him, sneaky
"Um, no it's fine", he smiled and I nodded "it's pretty crowded here I should've known than to stand here"
"Yeah...", I mumbled and Cathy cleared her throat
"My name's-"
"You don't have to give introductions, we probably won't see each other again", I quickly said and Cathy groaned, the guy looked a little surprised "okay bye".
I grabbed my bags quickly and walked away with Cathy following
"Can't believe you turned down that gorgeous man!", Cathy yelled and I rolled my eyes "did you see his eyes?"
"I'm not blind!", I yelled back as we walked through the parking lot for my car "and I have not time for a relationship with a human!"
"I'm not suggestions to have a relationship", she snickered and Athena growled "I'm sorry, Virgin Mary"
"I'm sorry that I want to leave myself pure for my mate", I growled finally getting to my car and stuffing the stupid bags into the back "besides, men are stupid. At least my mate will understand and love me"
"Sweetheart, I feel sorry for your mate because you haven't been in a relationship since freshmen year", she commented getting into the passenger seat "do you even know how to relationship?"
"That makes absolutely no sense what so ever", I frowned starting the car and she sighed "do you hear yourself talk sometimes?"
"Yes and I'm a genius", she smiled and I shook my head "seriously though, your mate has probably been on hundreds of dates and you're here being a lonely housewife". My foot stomped on my breaks and the car halted. My heart raced, my hands clenched the wheel and my breath hitched
"Ariel, I-"
"Shut up!", I growled and she jumped "just stop talking, please!". Athena hated the idea of our mate going out with other women, even if was true. Cathy hated seeing me alone, but I was just fine. I loved the pack, work and being alone. Yes, it does sound depressing, but I'm willing to wait for my mate. After a few minutes of regaining myself and Athena calming down, I continued driving
"I'm sorry Alpha", Cathy whispered hanging her head
"You're my best friend", I sighed with a small smile "don't call me that, it's weird..... Just don't say that about my mate"
"Of course", she nodded and the rest of the drive was extremely quiet.

I worked until seven at night. I went to my room to find a note from my dad. The black dress that Cathy brought me laid on the bed along with my new nude flats. The note read to be outside at 7:20 with my clothes, so I did. After getting dressed, I went outside to see everything beautifully decorated. Small lights, hung from the houses to the trees, tables and chairs were set up, and everyone stood in front of me yelling "surprise!". I smiled and thanked them
"Daddy!", I squealed hugging him and he laughed
"Happy birthday!", he spoke sweetly and waved to all the decorations "do you like?"
"It's beautiful, thank you", I replied with a nodded
"Alpha!", Luca called and run up to us with the rest of the pack kids "we made you cards!"
"Awww! Thank you!", I smiled and took the cards they made "I'll read all of them before I go to bed, group hug". All the kids cheered and gathered to hug me- they are too precious. The party was amazing and fun, we danced, the pack woman made delicious food and the cake was sweet. I relaxed back in my seat, stomach full, and smile on my face. There's nothing more
Somethings not right, Ariel said, causing my nerves to spike
"When was the last time we did rounds?", I asked Cathy while looking into the forest
"A hour ago", she answered and I sighed "something wrong?"
"Keep all the kids together, don't let anyone wonder off", I ordered and she nodded
"Ariel?", my dad spoke and I heard a growl from behind the trees
"I'm sorry to crash the party!", someone yelled and everything froze "but it seems like you were having too much fun". I growled and my men took their positions.
The children bundled together with some of the men surrounding them. Wolves came walking from all directions, only two men were still in human form. I could see the leader's face, but it didn't matter. Athena wanted to kill them already, but I need to know what they wanted.....
