Chapter 3
Haley and I stared at each other in horror. What was happening?!
Suddenly the water calmed. There were no more choppy waves. As the water around us stilled a big wave rose, coming towards us. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I was really freaking out now. Instead of hitting us it crashed right on shore a few feet away. From it walked out a human. A girl. She smiled an evil smile and spoke,
"My time has come. You will be the link young girls. You may not understand now but soon you will. For now I give you tails like mine and later powers of gold."
Then she walked away. Eerily beautiful in the full moon light. As her body entered the water a wave carried her away until she was out of sight and the storm had past.
I looked at Haley and saw she was asleep. I looked around us and realized something- we have mermaid tales. Mine green and hers orange. Oh no. Oh no. I am not a mermaid. I laid back on the wet sand and just passed out. This was too much.
Way too much.
