Andrea - POV:

I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing next to my ear. I picked it up and clicked Accept.

"Hello?"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

I smiled. It was Rita and Ross.

"Thanks guys! You're the best."

Rita spoke up. "Sorry we called so early! We just wanted to be the first ones to say it."

I laughed. "It's fine. Thank you."

Ross spoke up this time. "You're twenty three bitch!"

I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair. "I know. I'm getting old."

They wished me some more happy birthdays and then we ended the call. I walked over to my calendar and looked at the date. April 9th. I was twenty three. Wow. Time flies.

I got calls from my mom and dad, Amber, Darrell, my fellow co-workers and some other friends...but none from Nick or Christie. I was a little hurt that they hadn't called yet but it was only noon, so they probably were still asleep.

I decided to shower and pamper myself for the day. I curled my hair asymmetrically away from my face and got dressed in dark jeans, a sky blue split-sleeve blouse, along with some black boots. I put on light makeup and then I went to the kitchen to make breakfast.

While I was halfway through my breakfast there was a knock on my door. I went to it, excited to see who or what it was, and I flung the door open. It was Nick. I threw myself at him and gave him a big hug.

"Hey!"

He laughed at me. "You're happy."

I beamed up at him. "I knew you wouldn't forget."

He looked at me like he was confused. "Wouldn't forget what?"

I frowned. "There isn't something you want to say to me?"

He shook his head. "Umm...no..should there be?"

I sighed. "You don't have an urge to take me to your favorite coffee shop and get TWENTY THREE coffees?"

He laughed. "You're weird."

He walked in and I closed the door. I was so disappointed. I mean I know we'd only been dating for almost six months and I hadn't really talked about my birthday, still doesn't mean he shouldn't have remembered.

He plopped down on the couch and smiled at me. "I'm bored. We should go get lunch or something."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm still eating breakfast."

I moped back into the kitchen and sat down at the table and angrily munched on my waffles. Nick looked at me from across the room and smiled.

"What's wrong?"

I rolled my eyes again and looked away from him. "Nothing."

He shrugged and began watching TV. Nick stayed over my place while I went out and got my nails done and went shopping. If he didn't remember my birthday didn't mean I couldn't celebrate it. I got home around six o'clock and kept checking my phone to see if Christie called me. She didn't.

When I got inside Nick was still there watching TV. He looked at me as I set my shopping bags down and raised his eyebrows.

"What are those for?"

I sighed. "I just wanted to pamper myself today."

He nodded. "Oh okay. Do you want to watch TV with me?"
