"They should be here any time now." I smiled to myself.

How do you know?

His speech was better. More controlled.

"Because I wouldn't put it past poor Alexander to bust in, guns ablazin'" standing I walked to the window. Moonlight streamed in, cloaking the space in a gauzy white light. It was a full moon, Garth was out with that awful pack of mongrels leaving Rozalina unattended. Pity. "Darling." I turned to the creature sitting by my desk.

Yesss?

"Do you fancy a bit of a hunt?"

Of courssse.

"Excellent." I walked to the door. "Come."

Mike's P.O.V.

Do you even know where we're going?

"Shut up." Alexander hissed. I rolled my nonexistent eyes and continued my interrogation.

Do you know what we're looking for? No reply. Come on Mosquito, you're going to get yourself lost.

"I am not lost! So help me I will turn us around and leave this instant!"

Well excuse me. Didn't mean to anger the all knowing Alexander. I should be smited at dawn! He gave a growl and stopped in his tracks. He looked utterly... defeated. There were dark bags under his eyes and he looked even paler than usual. Are... are you ok, Alexander?

"No. Not really." He sighed. I did too.

Look, I know you're worried. I know this sucks but you've gotta keep going. For her. He shook his head.

"I'm not good enough. Not strong enough." I huffed.

You are the whiniest vampire I know. If something is too difficult you turn tail and run. Maybe you don't deserve Rozalina but I do. I deserve to see her live a full life without the fear that something is out to get her. I deserve that. And right now you're the only person that can help me achieve that. So pull on your grown vampire cape and help me.

"Sometimes I think you may be right." He smiled.

What are you talking about? I'm always right.

"Pssh. And who told you that lie?"

Fight me, bloodsucker.

"I wouldn't want to kill you. Again."

Oh no, wouldn't want that. I laughed slightly. Maybe he's not as bad as I thought. Maybe I'm going crazy.

"Come on." Alexander started walking. I was pulled along with him. It was hard to get used to at first. It was like I was connected to a string, not able to stray from him. I could still see though I had no eyes. I never thought death would be like this.

"Hmm?"

Nothing.

We walked for a few minutes. I truly think he is lost. Suddenly the snapping of branches caught his and my attention.

"My my, you get even more delicious every time I see you."

I'm going to hurl.

"Vivian." Alexander spat the name at her as if it were poison.

"Alexander dear." She opened up her arms as if expecting him to give her a hug. Fat chance. "Give wifey a hug would you?" His snarl was answer enough. "Well, that went as expected. Why don't you come back to my castle, I have your precious little bitch with me."
