"A-Ah wala po d-daddy," kabadong sagot ko.

"Aemy Bressely. You are my child. I would always know if you're lying, or not," sabi niya. Umupo siya sa kabilang sun bathing chair.

Kumurap kurap ako at dalawang beses napalunok. Hindi ko na alam ang isasagot.

Hindi talaga ako marunong magsinungaling and people will immediately notice if I do. I'm happy with that. Saves me a little from hell.

"Kasi dad si ate gustong manuod ng concert ng Train next week eh balak niya tayong ayain, di ba ate?" Kumindat sa akin si Bella.

"A-Ahh ye-hes dad! That's it! Train concert! Can we dad? Please? My treat?" malambing kong sabi.

Thank goodness I have such a witty sister! Ugh!

"Let me ask your mom first. Anong date ba, anak?" Tanong niya uli.

Gosh this is insane! I don't even know anything about the upcoming Train concert!

"A-Ano d-dad sa—"

"Thursday next week dad,"singit ni Bella.

Napabuntong hininga ako nang sobrang lalim. Damn that's close!

"Thursday? That's quite impossible, sweetheart. All of us will be out for a trip next week on Wednesday until Friday," sagot ni dad. Ngumiti siya at nag-pluck ng isang makalumang kanta mula sa dala niyang gitara.

Agad akong nagtaka sa sinabi niya. A trip? And all of us? Ang alam ko ay may trabaho sila pareho ni mommy and what he's saying is more impossible to happen.

"Trip? Where are we going dad? May trabaho po kayo di ba? You can't just ditch work. I know how strict your firm is when it comes to absences," I protested.

"Oo nga po dad. Bawal ang absences sa firm niyo nina mommy, di ba?" Dugtong ni Bella.

"I know, sweeties. But," tumayo siya at ibinaba ang gitara, "I'm promoted!" Bulalas niya. He gestured for a hug.

"Oh my God, dad! Really?! Congrats po! Oh my that's really a good news!" I hugged him right away.

Nakita ko naman si Bella na umahon sa pool at agad ding yumakap sa kay daddy.

"Dad is that why we're going on a trip?" Tanong ni Bella. Kumalas si dad sa pagkakayakap sa amin at ipinaupo kami sa sun bathing chair.

"Yes. I asked for a three-day vacation and my boss immediately conformed for it. VP Executive at your service and I'm going to handle all the interior engineers," he said in very proud voice.

"Wow! That's just, wow, dad. After ages of working so hard. You finally earned it," yumakap ako uli sakanya.

Kinurot muli ang puso ko. Ang saya saya ni daddy ngayon. I can't just tell him my shits right now. No, I will not tell him anything.

Ngayon ko lang siya uli nakitang ganito kasaya. I can't afford to take away the happiness in his face. That will surely scatter my heart into pieces.

Kumalas ako at ngumiti uli sakanya.

"We're going to your mom's province," sabi niya.
