Chapter 5: The Calm Before The Storm

"She's gone..." I can't believe it. She was there one minute, then gone the next. I sunk to my knees and buried my face in my hands. "I let him take her! It's al my fault!" I scream.

"Yumi, it's not your fault." Tea tells me trying to calm me down.

"Yeah Yumi," Yugi starts. I lift my head to see his face. He hangs his head, so I cannot see his face, "If anything it's my fault. You said that you had a bad feeling about the tape and told me to turn it off. But I didn't get there in time. It's my fault Yumi..."

"Yugi, It's not your fault either!" Joey yells. "We just need to figure out a way to get both of your grandparents back."

I got up off of the floor, not paying attention to what was going on behind me. I walk around Yugi's home to find a room with a window that will open; But far enough away that my friends won't see me. I walked into, what I think is Yugi's room.  His room resembles mine quite a bit, it even has the same skylight window that mine has.

"Hey, where's Yumi?" I hear Tristan say. I have to hurry.

I find the latch on the window and unlock it. I open the window and then fly right out. I fly up to the roof top if Yugi's home, but out of sight of the window. I want to make sure that they haven't seen me.

"Where did Yumi go?" I hear Tea ask.

"I'm not sure. She could have just snuck out and gone for a walk while we weren't looking." Yugi suggests

"Yeah, I guess." Joey says, "Are you sure your okay Yugi?"

"I'll be fine. But we need to figure out where Yumi went." Yugi says. Should I go back? I guess, but in a few minutes. I'll just sit up here for a while; or until one of them decides to come out on the roof.

"Yumi, I am so sorry. I should have acted faster than I did." Yami told me. I saw her spirit come beside me and sit next to me on the roof.

"Yami, it's not your fault either. Now that I think about it, the only one who is at fault here is Pegasus. He really doesn't know who he's messing with." I say as my energy begins to flare again.

"Yumi, you need to calm down. I know Goku had taught you about controlling your energy, and now would be a good time to use his lessons." Yami told me.

"Yami, I need to ask you something. It's about Yugi..." I say pulling my knees to my chest

"I guess you can, but if it's about relationship advice, I wouldn't be much help." Yami tells me. I begin to blush at the statement Yami had just made

"No! It is not about that! Have you ever felt that second presence when we're around Yugi?" I ask.

"I have noticed a second presence. I have a feeling it has something to do with his Millennium Puzzle. This second presence somehow feels familiar to me. Almost as if he is a friend of mine long ago." Yami said as she started to zone out.

"Yami? You okay?" I ask

"Yes, yes I'm fine. And speaking of a second presence, I think Yugi is coming up here." Yami tells me.

"He is!...I mean...Okay, you know what to do." I say.

"Yeah I know, now don't get all mushy on me." Very funny Yami...

I feel Yami's presence dissipate. I am left alone with Yugi cming up on the roof. Why do all of a sudden I feel nervous? I've never felt this way around a guy before...

"Yumi! What are you doing up here?" Yugi asks me.

"I don't know, I was going to fly," I didn't say that!, "I mean walk out towards the harbor and just hang out, but then I thought that you guys might end up trying to look for me. So I tried to stay close." I say.
