~Yumi’s P.O.V.~
I awoke that morning as I normally would have. I stretched out my arms and got out of bed. I brushed my teeth and put on a fresh pair of clothes; a black t-shirt and blue, short jean shorts. Then I woke up Gohan by shaking him and yelling in his ear to wake the hell up. But one thing was different about this morning; later I was to fight for the soul of my Grandmother along with Yugi’s Grandfather.
I walked over to the mirror and took a look at myself in it. My normally cheery, amethyst eyes were less vibrant and had light bags under my eyes from being up last night. I remember flying out of my bedroom window, following the sound of my grandmother’s voice. I couldn’t see her; I couldn’t sense her. I just kept flying aimlessly until I saw the Eye of Horus appear in front of me. I saw a huge flash of light, and then I woke up in my bed; shaking and sweating. It took me at least an hour to calm down enough to go back to sleep.
I had finally lost the energy to keep myself in my super saiyan form just before I had gone to sleep last night. So now I was stuck with my normal hair, not that I didn’t like it, but I would rather keep myself hidden from my friends a bit longer. I moved away from the mirror and grabbed my beanie from the corner of the mirror where it hung. My tail lazily hung behind me, moving to and fro as I moved around the room. I grabbed my backpack that had been left astray next to the dresser in the room. Gohan had finally begun to get dressed as I was just finishing up. Gohan had thrown his dirty gi in his duffel bag and plucked out a white t-shirt and a fitted pair of blue jeans.
“Are you ready yet?” I asked as Gohan put on his t-shirt. He took a look at himself in the mirror and looked over to me.
“Yeah, I think so.” He said walking over towards me. Gohan and I walked out of my room. I held on to my beanie, I would put in on right before I was to reach the others.
Again Gohan and I walked through the twists and turns of the castle, but this time we had to find the dueling arena. But as we headed to the dueling arena, we passed the dining hall and I was hungry. “You mind?” I asked Gohan, nodding over towards the buffet of breakfast pasties that were laid on the table.
“Nah, I could eat too.” Gohan and I then walked over towards the buffet of pastries.
Each of us grabbed a plate and began to build a tower of crescent rolls and Danishes. It was almost hard to keep the whole thing upright with all of our food on the plates. So then Gohan and I carefully balanced the plates over to a nearby table and set them down. Then quicker than most of you could say ‘Saiyan’ our tower of pastries was gone.
“That was good!” Gohan exclaimed as he stretched his arms up high. Then I felt the energies of my friends grow closer, so I pulled my hair back into a low bun and put the beanie over my hair. “Are they close?” he asked me.
“Yeah, the semi-finals are going to start soon.” I told Gohan beginning to head out the main door.
“Wait, Maeyumi.” Gohan spoke as I was about to exit the room. “What are you going to do about your eyes? If you want to stay hidden, your going to need a way to change your eye color.” Gohan was right, I did need to do something with my eyes. Just something that will fool Tea, Tristan and Joey. But Tea is pretty observant, and I think I know just the way.
“Well, I have an idea. But it may require a sensu bean.” I told Gohan. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small snack bag full of sensu beans. “Perfect.” He reached into the bag and handed me one sensu bean. I took it and chewed on the cardboard-flavored bean. I swallowed and immediatley felt an intense rush of ki flow through me.
“Careful now Maeyumi, you can’t go and burn yourself out again.” Gohan informed me.
“I know, I am just going to go halfway.” Gohan tilted his head to the side, obviously confused at what I meant, “I’ll just show you.” This transformation didn’t require much energy for me and it didn’t have a very big shock like my super saiyan transformation has, so I shouldn’t cause too much ruckus. I closed my eyes and used the jump-start from the sensu bean to fuel the transformation. I could feel my hair puff out from underneath my hat and my muscles bulged out a bit. Then the transformation ceased, and I opened my eyes back up again.
