» If I told you that I loved you tell me what would you say?
If I told you that I hated you
would you go away? «song: the beach - the

There's nothing sadder than seeing a person for the first time in a long time and having nothing to say to each other.
But what should they talk about, anyway? Hi I'm glad you're back, where did we stop half a year ago?
I'm glad you broke my heart, so tell me, what's up?Yeah, right. That didn't seem like the best way to do it.
She probably thought the same thing so they didn't say nothing at all, Calum driving off to god knows where. To be honest, he didn't know it either, and just tried to listen to the music instead to the silence.
"Can I use your shower?", Esme said after a while, seeming just as pissed off at the fucked up situation as he was. Without an answer, Calum turned around at the fasted opportunity to do so, her leaning to the window while looking outside, to the street that was covered with puddles from the last rainshower.
As Calum pulled in in front of his house, he left the car as soon as possible without paying attention to her at all. Walking over to the door, he took out his keys and unlocked it, her following him inside.
"You know where everything is", he told her, still sort of grumpy.
"Thanks.", she said as she walked over to the bathrooms and locked the door behind her, while Calum waited in the kitchen for her.
Luckily his mom was out with her girl friends today, and he didn't have to explain this mess to her. He threw some gum inside of his mouth and leaned back to the kitchen unit behind him while looking around impatiently.
He checked his phone, scrolled a bit here and there, looked at the time, but she still wasn't there 20 minutes later. Damn.As she did finally come out of the room, a towel on her head and her make up painting the skin under her eyes black she plugged the fan right in the socket opposite to him. He nearly wanted to tell her to go do it in the bathroom, but he shut up instead. Oh, did he mention the fact that she wore nothing but her oversized shirt that was barely covering her legs?
"I haven't showered in, I don't know, feels like weeks", she explained to him, and he nearly felt rude for not answering but he couldn't help but think there was nothing more lame than talking about that. Showering. Smalltalk.
Unwilligly, he pushed the glass he filled with water a couple inches closer to her on the kitchen table next to the both of them. "Thanks", she said as she reached out for it and sipped on it.
It was still quiet between the two of them and Calum stretched in front of her until he held onto his neck and looked at her - his countless of thoughts always swaying back to the question of why her presence here was necessary in the first place if she just blanked him like that - he just looked at her blow drying her hair.
There were a hundred things he could say, and a hundred things that she'd say she'd hate.
He was sick of it, sick of her not answering his unspoken questions that she should know anyway, and he was tired of not knowing what was going on in the first place.
