»I'm afraid I believe in nothing
No hopes or dreams you could've left me dead
Naive and not to mention, I'm losing count of all my blessings
With all that I've done, it's too late
I can't take back all that I have become.«

Calum opened the bottle of wine that he kept in his car in the case of an emergency as he walked back into the gym of the prom party. The music was still echoeing through the whole area around the gym.
Calum stumbled back through the front door of the party, and when he heard the bass in every of his body parts that now felt rather weak he already hated his decision to give prom a second shot. He wanted to find out where Kaycee was but then again he didn't want to face her as of now because he didn't know what he was gonna say. He knew he had to figure out a way to fix this one day or another, that was for sure, but but he felt like a terrible person because of everything that had happened the past 5 hours eventhough it already felt like seeing Esme never happened. At least not tonight. Not in this life.
He went inside, and realized that maybe the loud music was exactly what he needed right now. His hand in a first of trying to pull himself together. And he was gonna pull himself together in the future. No more Esme, that was over. She made her descision. No more Calum and Esme. No more stupid lies and things beyond anyone's imagination. He was breathing in, closing his eyes, trying to forget or at least pretending to. He didn't like the type of music that was playing right now, but all he felt was numb and the feeling of wanting to forget. He drank the bottle of wine, at least that what was left of it, up in one sip. As if in trance, he slowly entered the hall, breathing slowly, and forced himself to look for his friends. They probably hadn't realized he was gone anyway, as the room was still highly crowded and it seemed like the party had just really started.
He spotted Lori at the opposite of the room, who looked confused to see his face and tried to sneak away from the girls she had a conversation with right now, and walked over to Calum who's head was red and hair was completly messed up. Overall, he looked like a trainwreck.
Lori was only meters away from him, as she mouthed. "What are you doing here?" with wide eyes. Calum tried to get closer to her, but got interrupted by a furious someone that stepped between of them.
"I'm gonna kill you", was what Michael said, the anger in his jaw undenyable.
"I'm gonna kill you", he shouted again and his chest started raising and lowering faster and faster, and before Calum knew what was going on, he already felt his fist against his left eye.
Calum stumbled back, confused on what was happening, and shielded his eye from Michael who tried to punch him a second time.
A small group of people around them stopped doing whatever they did before, and looked at the two of them in complete shock.
Calum groaned as Michael punched him into his stomach and Calum did it him alike.
"MICHAEL", Lori shouted but her voice got lost inbetween the groans and voices of people whispering things around them.
Michael grabbed the table cloth of the buffet's table and pulled, all the bowls and plates falling to the ground and splitting in a thousand pieces.
"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE", Michael shouted before walking up to him again , "WHEN DID YOU PLAN ON TELLING US"
"Wha-what?", Calum stuttered.
