Kaoru was now on his way to see Mr. Kokubo. He knows exactly what will happen when he steps into that office, he knows exactly that he might not be seeing her mistress again, he knows exactly that he’s going in there with the tail in between his legs but he doesn’t feel scared at all. He knows why he did what he did and he feels like no matter what happens, he doesn’t regret a thing.

He was almost in the office when a familiar figure popped up from the adjacent hallway.

“Hiromi…” Kaoru said whispering her name.

Hiromi came running to him and hugged him as tightly as she possibly could.

“Tell…tell my dad that…that you were just trying to…get an eyelash out of…my eye, or you were…blowing dust of my eyes. Tell him anything but that, maybe he’ll believe it,” Hiromi said as she wept in between her words.

Kaoru closed his eyes as he hugged her tightly back. I would never want to leave too but right now it looks like I have to…for awhile. He thought to himself as he tried to cherish that moment.

“Mistress, it’s okay. I’m not afraid for master to find out that I’m in love with you. It’s the truth and I don’t want to deny it anymore,” Kaoru answered honestly.

“But if you do that, he’ll fire you. Please Kaoru, I don’t want you to go. I…I…I love you too you know,” Hiromi said stumbling on her words. She was shaking in Kaoru’s arms. It was dead obvious she’s scared to loose him.

You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to hear that. Kaoru thought. Kaoru loosened his hug on Hiromi and kissed her on the forehead then looked at her straight in the eye saying, “I’m not going to leave you. Though I may be physically absent, I will always be here by your side. And when the time comes, I’ll go find you again and by then, I’ll never let you go…ever.”

Hiromi just nodded and finally let go of her hug on Kaoru saying, “This is not goodbye. I order you to come back to me.”

Kaoru can’t help but giggle. It was the first time that Hiromi ‘ordered’ her to do anything. Even though she was her butler, she never really did utilize him. He just served her but she doesn’t ask for anything more.

“Of course mistress,” Kaoru said bowing at Hiromi for the last time before he finally went inside Mr. Kokubo’s office. Hiromi just watched his back as he slowly stride away. Somehow that fear that she was feeling earlier completely blew away. She knows Kaoru will keep his promise.

Hiromi went back in her room and there she waited and waited and waited for a Kaoru to come back but after awhile she just fell asleep.

“Mistress…mistress,” she heard as someone was shaking her shoulder.

“Ka—Kaoru,” Hiromi said bolting out of her bed and hugging the first figure she saw.

“No it’s Takeshi,” Takeshi said as he patted Hiromi’s back. “Kaoru just left,” he said as he let go of Hiromi and went by her door window.

“Ah…he’s still there,” Takeshi said as he looked out seeing Kaoru still standing there. Hiromi sprinted towards her balcony and stopped dead on her tracks as he saw Kaoru standing there looking straight at her with a backpack in one hand.

“Kaoru…” Hiromi whispered even though she knows that he won’t hear her but Kaoru just smiled as he waved his goodbye.

Hiromi scrambled to get anything she could give him, anything to remember her by when she accidentally touched her necklace. It was the necklace her mom gave her. It’s a family heirloom of over a hundred years old. It has the family crest in it.

She took it off hastily and locked it in her hand.

“But mistress, that’s the family heirloom. You can’t…” Tetsuya was about to say but Hiromi already threw it high in the air towards Kaoru.

“That’s why he’ll need to find me someday and return it to me,” Hiromi said with a smile on her face as she saw Kaoru waving the necklace in her hand.

Hiromi waved her final goodbye as he watched Kaoru slowly walk away towards the main gate. It is not goodbye. Hiromi thought and smiled.

As Kaoru was about to step out of the gate of the Hiromi mansion, a white limousine appeared in front of him and as the window rolled open, he immediately felt a sudden hatred at what he saw. Kai Murasaki was sitting there with a grin on his face.

“I’m glad to see you go,” he said as he took off his shades, smiling cockily.

“Why are you still hovering around my mistress? I thought you already had a deal that you’re going to date Miss Ayuzawa,” Kaoru can’t help but ask curiously.

“It’s not your business dog,” Kai scowled. “But since it became my goal to annoy you ever since you tried to kiss my girl I might as well tell you anyways,” he said smiling at Kaoru as if wickedly. “I happened to like Hiromi, honestly I do. And when that day comes that they’re gon’na announce our engagement, I’m not gon’na go with the plan of doing a business with the Ayuzawa, I’m gon’na retain what was originally planned and I’m gon’na marry her. Good plan huh,” Kai said smirking and Kaoru’s eyes grew wide when he heard that.

“You can’t…” but he wasn’t able to finish his sentence as the car window rolled up once more.

            No…that shouldn’t happen. Kaoru’s thought was in a panic.
