First day of school----as Hiromi guessed, she really didn’t enjoy it. Aside from the fact that she hates interacting with people who didn’t do anything but compare how expensive their things are, she was worried sick about Kaoru. That school made it a point that there students are not only talented and educated but are also intelligent. After all, they were known to produce leaders.
When she taught him the other night, he seemed to understand and has a good ability when it comes to defending and explaining situations but he’s not that good when it comes to memorization and that’s also kind of a step up on the exam.
She can’t help but sigh as she looked out the window. She wants to be there for him like how he’d always been there for her but right now, she can’t.
“You seemed like you’re in a bad mood Number Two,” Hiromi heard a voice say right beside me but she didn’t have to look up to find out who it was. Judging from the voice and the name he used to call her, she knew exactly who it was.
“And what, you think talking to you will make me high spirited again? Psh!” She said annoyingly.
“Actually, no. I knew that I was going to annoy you more that’s why I chose to talk to you,” he answered with a sinister giggle as he sat on her desk, smiling confidently at her.
She looked up to him and said, “Your face makes me want to dunk it in the toilet over and over. After all, it pretty much belongs there.” She stood up from her seat and walked out of the classroom. She still have thirty minutes of break left before her next class and she really had no intentions of spending it being annoyed by Tristan.
Tristan was the one who topped the entrance exam while Hiromi came in second. She really didn’t make a big deal out of it since she didn’t even put too much effort upon taking that exam but when she saw how arrogant and stuck-up and undeserving Tristan was, she got really mad at herself for not topping. She hates thinking that that guy thinks he’s superior to her especially when he started calling her Number Two the very first time they were introduced to one another. She knows immediately then that she has a rival at this school.
“You know you’re kind’a pretty. I could end up liking you if you’re just kind to me,” Tristan said, full of himself as he ran along side Hiromi.
“I’m not interested with a person who looks like ass,” she said annoyingly, walking a little bit faster.
“Heh, whatever. I’m not interested with a girl who looks like a thug anyways,” he said cheekily as he stopped and went back on their classroom without another word.
Hiromi stopped dead on her tracks.
“Gaaaahhhh!” She can’t help but scream after awhile, bits of tears flowing from her eyes.
She was so mad at that moment….so pissed of what that guy just said to him. It annoyed her…it annoyed her so much because somehow, she felt it was true.
What that guy said to her got stuck on her head the whole day she was at school; somehow it even made her forget that she’s supposed to be worried about Kaoru.
I’m not interested with a girl who looks like a thug anyways. That thought kept recalling in her mind all day long.
“Itoko daijobo?” Tetsuya asked her during dinner that night for he noticed that her mind was blanking out again.
“Daijobo desu,” she said in almost a whisper as she tried touching her food. It didn’t convince Tetsuya one bit but knowing his cousin well, he knows that she would want to keep her problem to herself and will only share it if she can’t handle things on her own already.
I guess it’s best to just leave it as that by now. He thought to himself.
“I’m going back to my room,” Hiromi announced and Tetsuya can’t help but just nod. He watched his cousin walk out of the room, leaving him there alone with her plate still full of food.
Hiromi watched herself in the mirror. She can’t help but think that though she has a good looking face, she still does emit that dark aura somehow…like she’s not the type of person anyone should approach without caution.
“I guess that’s what Tristan could see,” she said sighing to herself. Somehow what Tristan said really didn’t do well for her already bruised ego.
She ran her fingers to her clothes which was one of those Gothic Lolita styles that are quite the trend in Japan. “Should I change my clothing into something more---alluring?” She asked herself as she continued to stare at herself in the mirror.
“Or maybe a lighter, fresher make-up?” She added as she touched her face. When she can’t think of anything else, she just brushed the thought away and plopped on her bed.
She probably stayed like that for a few moments until someone knocked on her door.
“I’m not in the mood so go away,” she said annoyingly to whoever it was in her door.
“Ahh hai!” The voice said sounding disappointed but the sound of that voice made Hiromi change her mind. She immediately got up and opened the window hugging the person that was standing there immediately.
“O-ojou-sama daijobo?” Kaoru can’t help but ask, shocked of why she was holding him so tightly at that moment.
She wanted to tell him everything, she wanted to tell him that she had a bad day, that she hated Tristan’s guts, that she missed him and she wanted to rely on him for comfort but she just held all of it in and said, “Ii yo. Don’t mind me. How’s the exam?” She asked curiously.
Kaoru began pulling a piece of paper then and handed it over to Hiromi. She hastily opened the letter and read between the lines until she found the word PASSED somewhere along the first paragraph. She looked at Kaoru who now has a huge grin on his face and out of the blue, Hiromi hugged him once more.
In great honesty she was so proud of him and she was so glad that he didn’t have to leave her side.
All of a sudden Hiromi didn’t even care about her past problem with Tristan anymore. With Kaoru being there and the good news he bought with him, that was enough to make Hiromi smile for a long time.
