Hiromi flopped in her bed as soon as she saw it. It was a long day. After being called to the dean’s office and the orientation and the introductory party that Hiromi attended to (though she wasn’t interested) she was already bloody exhausted.

She was so pissed off at her dad that she wants to pick up her phone and just yell at him but she was so run down that she doesn’t even have the spirit to pick up her phone anymore.

She looked around the room knowing that it’s going to be her prison for the next four years that she’s enrolled there. What a spacious room. Who used to live here, Princess Diana? She kid to herself. It wasn’t as big as her room back in their mansion but for a dormitory with thousands of students having 1 to 1 ratio of students and bedrooms and the room being that big, well that’s really impressive.

She decided to take a bath figuring out that she probably already smelled from all of the activities happening that day. She went into her walk-in closet knowing that her stuff was already arranged for her in advance and she was right. All of the things she packed were already there and organized quite well I might add. She grabbed the dress she planned to change into and threw it in her bed before she got ready to take a bath.

Why? Hiromi can’t help but question herself as she sat in the tub, trying to soak her worries away.  “I wonder what he’s doing right now.” She said aloud, this time wondering where her trusted butler was. She knows exactly where he was at that moment, she can come to him whenever she wants to, but she kept telling herself not to…at least, not right now.

She was just in the middle of that thought when suddenly, her mind started to drift to her first question, ‘Why?’ And with that, her mind started to flashback to the days when her mom was still alive. Her dad was still a joyful man then and he treated Hiromi like a treasure but when Hiromi’s mom started becoming sick, he lost that spark…that joy little by little.

Of course it is quite understandable. If you’ve loved something and then suddenly that thing was taken away, you know the feeling. But what Hiromi doesn’t understand is why she’s not as special to her dad anymore. The thought of her dad blaming her for her mom’s death had always been on her mind. After all, she was the reason why her mom didn’t want to undergo the chemo. Her mom didn’t want to become weak for her. Rather, she wanted to stay strong and spend her last remaining life happy together with Hiromi and her dad.

She was still in the middle of taking a bath when she heard their house bell go on three times which she knows stand for something but just can’t quite remember what it is. After all, she was not interested in going to this school much less read the handbook. But she immediately got out of the tub immediately anyways and went to change.

“Ahh, here it is. Three bells for breakfast, lunch or dinner,” she said aloud as she read her handbook after changing. She checked her watch and realized she was already 15 minutes late for the assigned dinner so she hurriedly grabbed her phone and went out of the room.

“You’re late Ms. Kokubo,” Mrs. Richards, their den mother, said as she got to their dining hall.

“Yeah, sorry. I was taking a bath,” she said honestly and Mrs. Richards just stared at her disapprovingly. Hiromi just brushed pass her and went on to have her dinner anyways.

“Hiromi here!” Tetsuya yelled from one corner of the room and everyone shushed at him annoyingly. Hiromi grabbed a tray and got some food from the buffet table before she sat where her cousin was.
