So I have realized that if I want to sit in the front of the section or be one of the top three people in my section (< my goal) I'm going to have to practice differently, because apparently my method of practicing isn't working.
So my new method is that I picked out all the hard parts in my music and just played them 10 times each and if I messed up I would go back one (so if I had to played it 5 more times and messed up, I would then have it play it 6 instead of 5), I played for about 45 minutes straight. Yeah sitting up straight in playing position for that long made my the muscles in my back burn really bad, it felt like someone threw lava on my back. But it was worth it because now I know those parts really well and can play them amazingly, and I surprising feel like practicing again, which I will probably do. For all those people who play an instrument or practice a sport, that's my advice for you, just make yourself do the hard part so many times and if you mess up go back. I just really hope it pays off for all the hard work I'm going to put into it.
Today was one of those days where I just zoned out a lot and didn't even notice, plus I was really tired today too. When I get tired, I have this weird thing I do where I sigh a lot, and I don't know if it's normal but it's just the way it is.
So basketball tryouts are on Monday, YAY, I've been waiting for them all year and there finally here. I really hope I do well, last year I was a manager and it wasn't the best, we basically just ran around getting water, ice for the injured, and the basketball players were actually supposed to help, but they must have thought they were too good to help or something because they NEVER did, which was very frustrating. The only good thing about being a manager was that I got to go to the practices and improve on my skills and being manager inspired me to work harder to improve even more so I could make the team when I tried out again. I've gotten a lot better then I was when I tried out last year and back then I had no experience I just did because I wanted to be part of the team and try out new sports. But this year I have the experience and so I just hope I have enough experience to make it. Like with volleyball it didn't matter if I made it or not because I did it for fun, but basketball I actually worked for it, it's fun, but I also have put a lot of my summer into it with leagues and stuff.
Also this next 6 weeks I'm going to work harder with my grades and studying habits. Making sure that if I have a test that I start studying as soon as I know about it. I think that way I can study little chunks at a time and I don't wait until the last minute, like the night before my test to study. I think I also might need to pay some more attention in class, like not zoning out as much and if I don't understand something ask the teacher. I don't know I've always been kind of scared to ask the teacher. It happened when I was in 1st or 2nd grade, but one day I asked the teacher because I didn't understand, I got in a lot of trouble for not listening to understand, and then I got this note in my folder to take home saying I needed to do a better job paying attention in class. So yeah ever since then I've just been afraid to ask the teacher questions. So I've always asked the person sitting next to me or behind me and have gotten my questions answered that way.
Yeah this rant is just about how I want to improve and accomplish in everything that's coming up and how I'm going to do it. But that's all I have to say so byeeeee.
