So as you all may know, today is Christmas Eve, the day before the day everybody waits for. The day my family puts out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.
So my whole family was over at around 4, and we are Christmas Eve dinner at around 5:30-6.
One of my favorite things to do on Christmas Eve is play a game called White Elephant. The rules are
1) You bring something you don't want and you think somebody else would want
2) Everybody picks a number for a hat for what order you're going to be in
3) When it's your turn you can either pick a present from the pile or steal a present somebody else already has
4) Once you pick a present you must open it and no swapping presents with anyone until the end of the game
5) If someone wants to take you're present you have no choice but to give it to them
Yeah those are the basic rules but it's a family tradition. When I was little, I only followed half of rule number one, bring something you don't want. I've been know as the worst white elephant present giver. Two years ago I put in an old sock, with holes in it, and last year I put in a piece of a piñata, yeah it was pretty bad.
So today was pretty good, seeing my brother all excited as he looked on the Santa tracker, seeing Santa was. The look on his face was priceless. The last thing we really did was watch "A Christmas Story".
Yeah I better go to bed now because my brother and sister are waking me up at 7:30 so MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE.
