Getting Stuck in a Bus Seat

So yesterday was AMAZING, so we had Ann Roberts competition. I came to school early at about 8:00 to make up things on science I wasn't going to be there for, I got a lot done, more than I expected too, so now I'm ahead of the game.

Then I went to the orchestra room like we were supposed to and everyone thought I was dead. They had all called and left voicemails but I was to focused on my stations so I didn't pick up, so they started freaking out when I walked in because they all assumed I was dead. But thank you guys, I'm glad you are concerned for my well being and existence.

After all of that we hopped on the bus and headed towards the highschool, there was a lot of outbursts of laughing on the bus both on the way there and back, more on the way back because of how tired we were. The fact is when we get tired we go a little crazy... oh did I say little. I'm sorry I meant really crazy.

When we arrived, we had a little change of plans because we got there and our director wanted us to see one of the amazing high schools that were playing. So we got off the bus, dropped off our stuff and headed into the auditorium. Our director was right because that high school group was ASTOUNDING. They played so beautifully and wonderfully, I mean it sound like one really loud violin, one viola, one cello, and one bass, plus a harp, that's how good they were. Then we watched one more group before symphony left to go warm up and it was just chamber. Basically between every performance, Ethan would poke me or jab me or something of that nature, my knuckles a little red but we had a good laugh though. Then we watched symphony, then had to go unpack and get to the stage.

We tuned and warmed up, then those judges came in, I was fine during warm up but as soon as the guy started announcing our group, I started to tense up, every ten seconds I was wiping my hands on my pants, but even then they were still sweaty. We played just as planned with no major mess ups. I mean afterwards everybody was talking about there individual mess ups but nothing super big. When we went to that unpacking room... WOW, we were just blown away by what the group who unpacked before is did, there cases and instruments were everywhere, we couldn't even see the floor. The problem was with out our cases NICELY against the wall so we had to step over everything to get to them. It felt impossible plus some of the cello cases still had instruments in them, so we had to be super careful with those.

Once we finally got out of that mess and our instruments packed up we walked out to the picnic area to eat our chips. Just a few minutes later we saw our director come out from one of the doors, and one person after the next we all had noticed she had pulled out 2 big trophies, a bigger and a slightly smaller one from the boxes. Everybody started getting anxious as she came and set them down. First she announced symphony's score.

"Symphony got a 1-1-2." There was a small clap for them as I saw some of them smile and some of them frown. Not to leave a long silence she announced chambers score.

"And chamber got straight 1's" Everyone in chamber jumped up from there chairs and screamed (straight 1's is the best possible score). We all high fived and sat back down, then sang happy early birthday to Desheng because today is his birthday.

Then we got on the bus to go back to school, like I said before even more laughs we heard on the ride back. But this is were the title comes in, so we're all laughing taking weird pictures etc., and as I'm turned sideways the bus makes a dramatic holt on the brakes, of course causing me to get stuck in the seat. Yeah, yeah I know what your thinking "But Kayla there just bus seats, you should have been able to get out." Well not exactly, because the bus seats were smaller on this bus then a normal one (I think the bus was just smaller, idk) but I rode quiet way back like that because no one noticed but Nalani, Becca, and Shannan because we were in the very last row. And Shannan took some really weird pics of me because there was nothing I could do about it, I hope I never see those pics anywhere but her phone. I finally, after a while managed to get out, then I tried to go to sleep to find out 10 minutes later we were arriving at school... like REALLY! But I cheered up because we got to have pizza, YAYAYAY PIZZA!! We were supposed to go back to 7th period but since we arrived later than expected we could either go back to class or stay in the orch. room. Becca and Nalani left because they had important things they had to get done in class but I stayed with Ethan and Shannan.

Then school had ended, so yep that was my amazing Friday, and I can't wait to do it again next Friday with UIL!

So today wasn't all that exciting, just trying to do the work I missed, so yep, I'll definitely update you guys on what happens next Friday, so byeeeeee.
