Chapter 17

Thalia's P.O.V

I'm at school, when someone knocks on the classroom door. I look over, as does everyone in the class, and I notice my Mum and Jake. She texted me yesterday to say that her and Jake were back together, so that can't be why they're here. The teacher opens the door. Mum whispers something to her and the teacher calls me over. Mum and Jake pull me out into the corridor.
"Thalia, we have something to tell you." Mum's face drops a bit. I nod, smiling.
"Well, I'm pregnant!" She smiles. I hug her.
"Oh my God! That's great Mum!" I exclaim. She smiles and hugs me, then I lean over and awkwardly hug Jake. I don't really like him, but Mum loves him, so I'm just going to pretend to like him, to make Mum happy.

I walk back into the classroom, smiling. I sit down and try to concentrate on my maths.
