"Bye babe, I'll see you tonight." I said while we get in each other's cars. I started my engine and drove to school.
As I drive, I looked over to my side window to see Eli running towards me.
"Mind if I hop in?"
I laughed and nodded as I watch Eli struggle carrying her books with her. She's an English major and it looks like she got alot on her hands. Literally.
"So how's life?" I asked.
"Tiring, seriously. I don't know why but as graduation drawing nearer, the more busy I am. I don't even have time to talk to Ryan at times."
"Wow, busy girl. Have a look at the number of canvas paintings that I have at the back."
Eli laughed as we arrived in school.
"Thanks alot babe, I gotta run. I'll see you tonight for dinner!" said Eli as she runs to her class.
I got out of my car and carried my paintings. All my 12 paintings. I walked towards the stairs, not realising that the floor was wet. I fell on my back but I managed to save my paintings.
"Let me help you up," a manly voice said to me.
I got back on my feet but my back was hurting alot. Plus, I fell down in a dress. I hope I didn't flash anyone.
"Thanks alot, but I gotta rush." I felt bad but I had to rush for the exhibition.
When I reached, my classmates were clearing the place up, getting the exhibition room look near. I rushed to Siena Morey, who was one of my close friend in University.
"How's your morning," asked Siena.
I carried a new canvas and put it on my stand. "I fell. And I think I broke my back. I didn't realize the floor was wet and I just walked. Thank god someone helped me up,"
Siena looked at me, 'Who was it?'
"I didn't notice. It was a guy. His voice was nice."
"You're such an heartthrob. Do you know how many guys are after you? Jeez, you're lucky."
"I'm married, did you forget?"
Siena brushed the topic off, (get the pun? we were painting and bru- o ok bye) and starting planning the exhibition that was tonight.
Babe, I'll be late for your exhibition. But I'll try to come. Sorry. - Alfie.
Late. Again. Always.
Siena & I, and a couple of our classmates hung up our paintings, getting ready for tonight. I was really proud of my work. The amount of effort. And time put in.
One of the painting was a painting of Alf, a little bumped he'll be late tonight. I hope he likes it though.
As it was almost 8, the art exhibition had started and guests started to arrive. I'm looking forward for my girls to see my work, and Alfie of course.
Guests and professors started to observe my paintings.
"This painting, it's beautiful. Who is it inspired by?"
It was Alfie's painting. Of course.
"Oh, it's my husband." I replied.
"Wow, you're really young and you're married. Congratulations."
I smiled and just nodded my head as I'm socially awkward.
"Oh my god, I love your paintings. When are you drawing me? I've been requesting for years, Fel." asked Taylor as she observes my paintings.
"I'm so proud of you Fel. Your paintings are beautiful." commented Shalyn.
Soon my paintings became the limelight of the exhibition and many people started talking to me. I was still awkward, but I tried to talk and communicate confidently with Eli's guidance.
A man in his 20s, with neatly combed hair, muscular arms along with a nice suit started to comment on my paintings.
I got really intimidated. He looked. Perfect.
"Your paintings are magnificent." he says as he sip on his drink. "Thanks to me they weren't ruined." He added.
Right. So he was the guy who helped me up.
"Oh god, thank you so much for helping me in the morning." I replied.
He introduced himself and we started talking about my paintings. His name was Ivan Oswald. He was staring at my deep v neck dress, of course.
He walked closer to me and whispered, "Can I get you dinner?"
Alfie finally arrived, we eye contacted quickly and got our game plan. Alfie walked quickly towards Ivan & I.
"Excuse me," sneered Alfie as he quickly pulled me in his arms.
Ivan looked over at Alfie's nametag, "Alfie Marshall."
"I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Felisha Marshall. It was nice talking to you."
"We had a lovely talk." as he shooks my hand and walks away while sipping on his drink.
"I'm lucky to have such a beautiful and talented wife, huh?" said Alfie as he looked over my paintings with his hand on my waist.
