"It's nothing." I insisted for the fifth time in the last minute. I took a shaky breath, swallowing the lump in my throat and he noticed.
"Bullshit." He muttered, rubbing my arms as he took a small step nearer, pulling me to his chest.
"Is it because of the baby?" he asks. "I- I- I'm sorry. It's just really difficult for me. I just feel so bad for being such a horrible wife, and I think you deserve a better partner and I jus-"
He let out a breath and kissed me softly. "Fel, listen. You're the woman I want to be with. I'm going to be with you this whole process. No matter how difficult the situation will be, I'm always here for you."
He pulls me into tighter and longer hugs as he rub my back slowly. I've always loved his hugs. Makes me feel a whole lot more better.
"So what are you going to cook tonight?" I asked as I fix his messy hair.
"WE, are going to cook tonight. Let's make spaghetti." he replied as he looked through our fridge. I smiled and went along with the plan.
"Fel, when are we going to tell people that you're pregnant?" He asked as I drain the pasta.
"I'm not sure. Aren't we going to your parents' house tomorrow? I'll invite my parents along and we can just tell them at the same time. No hassle." I replied.
We finished the dinner, and returned to our bedroom. Alfie fell asleep quickly, and I stayed up. Thinking about the baby.
I calmed myself down, taking a few breaths. I'm going to be a mother. And it's okay to feel this way. I'm not going to be selfish, and if this baby will make Alfie happy, I will take care of this baby with my entire life.
