Chapter 1: Yes!

"Yes! Gosh, yes!" I screamed.

Alfie stood up, pulling me to him closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He held me tight, before letting go and sliding the ring onto my finger.

I looked at the ring and it was perfection.

"Keep it as a secret! We'll announce it tomorrow at my family gathering tomorrow."

"Alright. Let's go to your place and put down your luggage and everything,"

He nodded and we walked together, hand in hand to his house.

"Did you plan this?" I asked him.

"Yes, I planned this back in 2013."

This is surreal. I can't believe we're engaged. We reached his house, and his mother opened the door.

"Alfie, you have grown so much! My baby is 23!" she exclaimed.

Alfie nodded along with a giggle. I was there standing watching them. Alfie's such a mommy's boy.

"Hey darling. It's been awhile since I've seen you too!" she said while spreading her arms.

"Aw, yes it has been! How are you feeling?" I asked.

"I'm well, honey! You look beautiful today." she replied.

"Can I go inside already?" said Alfie jokingly.

Three of us went in the house to see Alfie's dad, Imelda and her husband, Kian sitting at the couch watching television. Imel looked back and said,

"My little brother is back!" She ran to Alfie and hugged him.

"Imel, I can feel a bump!" said Alfie.

"Yeah, I got knocked up, bro." replied Imel.

Imel went up and gave me a hug, "Fel! You still look beautiful since the last time I've seen you. Look at you, wearing a dress."

"Thanks! Yes, a dress." I replied.

Kian went up to me and gave me a hug as well.

"Hey. I'm Kian!" he said while putting his hand over Imel's shoulder.

"Hey, I'm Felisha." I said while smiling.

"My family is growing!" exclaimed Mr. Marshall.

All of us laughed and we had dinner together. This was my first dinner with them since like... forever. Awkward.

"Felisha, how's your family?" asked Mr. Marshall

"Great." I stuttered.

Kian who was sitting beside me whispered, "Don't be afraid, I went through all of this already."

Dinner with his family was nice, still nervous.

I hugged his parents and Alfie's mom added, "Feel free to join us, anytime dear! Plus, invite your family & friends to come here tomorrow."

I nodded and quicky left the house.

I checked my phone and got a text,

Come to my house girls, it's been awhile, miss you babes. - Shalyn.

I made my way to Shalyn's house. I missed Elizabeth, Shalyn & Taylor so much. We don't see each other often since we graduated from high school.

I arrived and all of them was there waiting for me.

"So how's life girls?" Elizabeth asked.

"Rachele turns 3 next month! Anthony & I are celebrating our 1 year wedding annivesary soon." said Shalyn.

"I'm well, finishing my last year in university." replied Taylor.

"Moving out to my own house tomorrow, out of my parents' home ugh. You, Fel?" replied Elizabeth.

"Nothing......." I started grinning.

"What is it Fel? I can see that smile." said Taylor.

I could not keep the secret from my girlfriends, come on.

I showed them the ring on my finger and said,"He likes it & he puts the ring on me!"

Three of them jumped and hugged me.

"Congratulations, Fel!" said Taylor.

"Girls, keep it a secret. And come to Alfie's house tomorrow. Accompany me, I'm so awkward with them."

"For what babe?" asked Shalyn.

"Alfie's family having this gathering about him coming home and all."

Three of them nodded their heads and we started munching on the pizzas.
