/Alfie's POV/
I woke up earlier than Fel today. It was the way she mumbled in her sleep, those soft murmurs that disappeared into the pillow case that made me feel like I had to stay awake, like she had something to tell me.
I don't understand how beautiful she looks even when she's sleeping. Her hands are on her growing stomach, as she slept peacefully.
My eyes are heavy and tired, but absolutely captivated by her mouth's little movements. Sometimes, I would talk back answering in nothing above a whisper as she tells me strange stories and secrets. "Is that so?" I'd ask, reaching out to brush back a lose strand of her hair.
Fel's jumbled response would seem irrelevant to anyone else, but to me it meant the world. Shaking my head and smile, stroking the side of her face, "I love you, silly girl."
Felisha will always be my girl. I'm so madly in love with her. She finally woke up as her alarm went up.
"Did you say something to me?" I asked.
"Um no." Alfie replied and quickly went to the bathroom.
"Can we go baby shopping after work? They're coming in 3 months and we literally haven't done anything for them."
"Sure babe." He answered.
Since it was still early, I decided to make breakfast. An actual, sit down breakfast. Our mornings are usually us rushing to work, with no breakfast or just an handful of cereal.
Our 4th year wedding anniversary is coming up in a few more days, so why not pamper him a little.
I went into the kitchen and began making chocolate crepes, a recipe that I got from his mom. As I was deep in concentration, I heard the stool at the kitchen counter pull out.
"Is this another recipe that you're trying from Pinterest?" Alfie said jokingly.
"Shut up. It's going to be a success this time." I said without looking at him, concentrating on flipping the pastry over in the pan.
Once I had flipped two over successfully, I plated them with a strawberry middle before wrapping them.
"Here you go." I said handing him a plate and a fork.
"Well it looks really good. Let's dig in while we have time." he said pulling out my chair for me.
We finished our breakfast and went off to work.
I got in the Art room with students already starting with their assignments.
"For today's class, we will focus on Visuals."
After a long day in the Art room, I walked to the staff room to finish up on more assignments to mark. Eli comes in the staff room with a bundle of worksheets in her hands.
"Woah, someone gave her students a hell of a week of homework." I said as I watch her struggle carrying the worksheets.
"I had to. The entire class was so noisy and their finals are coming up. You know what that means for us. Less teaching, more printing of notes which means we can spend
more time in the staff room, god bless." said Eli as she puts up her hair in a ponytail."Ah yes, I can spend days in this staff room. My back has been killing me and I'm so tired. I just wanna go home and sleep."
"Sleep on your sides, it'll help you sleep better since your back is hurting. Get a pregnancy pillow. I got mine when I was having Nicholas."
"Thanks babe, I'll get that." I replied as I turned my chair towards the table. It's almost 7 and I still have a few more assignments.
I'm already here. Let's go shopping. - Alfie.
"There are so many to chose from," I whispered looking at strollers lined up on display.
"I like the orange one, look at how cool the wheels are." Alfie said, spinning the wheel with his finger. I giggled and shook my head, "No orange. I don't want my children in an orange stroller. What about the navy?"
Alfie was silent and just looked at the display. "The black one?" Alfie & I said at the same time, making each other laugh. "Black it is then," Alfie smiled.
"How about these?" he asked, showing me two blankets. I smiled as I felt how soft they were, "They will go perfectly in the stroller. I'm sure the twins will love them."
Alfie then quickly walked away, and of course walking towards the toys section.
"I can see you like it, but is it more for you or him?" I smiled as I watched Alfie kneeling on the rug with roads and buildings printed on it.
"For the baby, of course." he chuckled, standing up and looked at the girls section of toys.
"Should we get this?" I asked, taking Alf's hand.
"For our girl?" he stopped in front of a pretty wooden dollhouse. I returned his smile, opening the door and looking inside.
"Yes." I whispered, looking at him. "I love it, but she won't be able to play with it for months, at least until she is sitting or moving around a little on her own." He replied.
I nodded and looked around the store. My eyes stopping when I saw it hanging on the rack. I slowly walked towards and picked it up.
"Hey Alf," I yelled out, making him run over. "A baby denim jacket. Can you imagine them wearing it?" I whispered, showing him.
Alfie smiled and took it from me.
"They'll look so adorable. I can't believe they are going to be that small," He said. I nodded, "It's incredible isn't it. And they are going to be here soon." I said, thinking about holding our little babies.
Alf put his hand on the small of my back and kissed my temple, "And they are already so spoilt. But I wouldn't have it any other way."
"Of course they're spoiled. Look at their dad," I replied. "Hey! Don't say that."
