My eyes slowly fluttered open, and I found myself facing the empty space where Alfie was supposed to by laying.

I could hear some movement around our house and a familiar Ed Sheeran tune on his iPod filled the whole house quickly. Alfie was already awake.

I shuffled out of bed and was about to open the door, when I suddenly caught sight of myself in the mirror.

I stared at my flat stomach and rubbed it.

"Goodbye flat stomach, I'll miss you." I hought to myself.

I walked into our kitchen and saw Alfie preparing while singing along to the songs.

"Hey." he said while preparing breakfast.

I sat on the chair and drank a cup of coffee.

"I'm sorry about last morning," he said.

"Nah, it's alright." I replied.

He placed some pancakes on the table, which were covered in maple syrup, and also my favourite magazine.

Alfie sat at the opposite seat to me on the table. We both tuck straight into our pancakes, which tasted delicious.

Strangely, I enjoyed the combination of syrup and coffee together.

As we were starting to finish off our breakfasts, Alfie spoke again. "So how are you feeling now?"

"Okay, I guess." I said while shrugging my shoulders.

"Okay isn't good enough babe,"

I gazed at Alfie, and saw that there was still an element of pure bitterness in his eyes.

"What are trying to say?" I asked.

"I don't know Fel. I don't think it's food poisoning,"

I placed my head onto the kitchen table and sighed loudly.

"You have an appointment around 11," Alfie said quietly, as he picked up both of our plates.

"What?! You went behind my back?"

"Please Fel, I've got a really bad feeling. I don't think it's just food poisoning," he replied.

I stomped back into our bedroom and slammed the door shut. I lay on our bed, cleaning my fists tightly.

Alfie can be a jerk sometimes. Or it's just me being a bitch ignoring the fact that I'm pregnant.

The car ride to the hospital was silent. i was furious at Alfie for forcing me to come to the hospital, but in my heart, I knew he was right.

We arrived in the hospital waiting room, and sat there for around twenty minutes. I felt Alfie's hand grab onto mine, and I just let my own hand intertwine with his. He looked absolutely scared.

We were called from the waiting room into a small office. A doctor shook both our hands and told us to take a seat after we'd introduced ourselves.

"What seems to be troubling you?" She said with a warm smile.

I looked towards Alfie and he cleared his throat. "Well, I think that Felisha might be ill,"

"And why is that?"

"She's been throwing up alot, terrible headaches."

"Oh okay, Mrs. Marshall follow me futher checks."

Oh no. I was doomed. The doctor will check my stomach and she's going to tell Alfie that I'm pregnant. I'm dead.

"So, how is your menstrual cycle?" she asked while I was laying down.

"Not regular. Just this month." I replied.

"I see," She replied while lifting up my shirt and scanning my stomach.

"Well, I can see a fetus growing."

I went back to the chair and sat down.
Alfie lays his hand on my shoulder as the doctor announced it. I'm totally dead.

"Congratulations, your wife is pregnant." she announced.
