Wait, why Alfie's car in the driveway. I came home earlier than usual. The house was silent, is he still sick?
When I went up to our room, my suspicion was proven to be correct.
There was Alfie, cocooned in blankets, paler than usual. Knowing the usual drill when he gets sick, I went to the kitchen to get his Lemsip.
"Fel," He groans out, his voice hoarse and choppy.
"What happened to it's just slight fever?" I say whilst sitting down beside him. He just groans. "Do you need anything? Soup, tea, ice cream?
"I just want you." He sniffles.
"I'm being serious. Do you need anything?"
"I was serious too, I only want you. Come cuddle?" I make a fake disgusted face. "Ew, I'll get your sick germs." He manages to let out a hoarse laugh.
"My sick germs are hot, now come here." He wiggles his arms out of the blankets and extends them out to me.
I crawled over to him and fall into his arms. "Now why don't you try to sleep huh?" He closes his eyes. "Sounds like a plan." He mumbles.
In 5 minutes tops he is sound asleep, snoring like a sick little pig. I move a strand of hair away from his eyes with my free hand, placing my lips on his forehead.
I slowly closed the door shut and walked down to the kitchen. I'm still a little shut off with what happened yesterday. I don't know if I should try to talk to dad again. I need Ana to be fully safe.
I've been in the kitchen for about thirty minutes or so, cutting up things like celery, potatoes, and carrots. I'm using one of Alfie's mom recipes, his favourite. I placed the soup and put it all on a tray.
Alfie quickly stepped infront of me.
"Can I show you something?" Alfie asked. I sighed, my feet and back suddenly feeling worst.
"Okay. But aren't you supposed to be resting," I replied seeing how happy he was.
"Well, I woke up and I got bored. Anyways, this way!" he said, taking my hand.
He guided me to the extra room that we had in the house.
"Close your eyes, beautiful." he said softly.
I reluctantly closed them. Alfie placed his hand on the small of my back and opened the door.
"Open," he whispered, standing behind me. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the room. It was decorated better than I ever imagined.
I gasped in shocked. He had arranged all the furniture and placed the clothes and toys away. Half brown and half maroon. They even had their own little wardrobes. I never thought this room would actually turn out to be a nursery, since we neglected this room since we moved in.
After a few minutes of being speechless, Alfie begun to panic.
"If you don't like, I can change it. I'm so sorr-" I cut him off with a kiss.
"I love it," I whispered against his lips. "You did all of this?" I added.
"I'm glad you liked it. Imel helped a little when you were at work."
"It's amazing, absolutely perfect. Thank you so much. You should be resting, come." I said while pulling his hand to our bedroom.
"I cooked soup and got lemsip for you," All I got was a groan in response. "Alfie William Marshall, you need to take your medicines."
He buried his face deeper into the pillow. Sighing at how much he was like a toddler, I decided to leave the tray and let him get to it when he wanted.
However when I tried to stand up to go back downstairs, Alf grabbed me by the wrist, making me jump. "Stay," he mumbled into the pillow.
"Eat your medicines. Then I'll stay."
Alfie finally gave in and took his medicines.
"Come cuddle with me." He murmured, staring at me through half-lidded eyes and tousled hair. A few breaths later, he ambled up and gently nudged me. "Don't think so much about your dad. He needs time. You my dear needs rest.
"I'm just worried about Ana. She's my only sister and I love her alot." I replied.
"You know it kills me to see you cry?" I wrapped my arms around his waist and he brushes his fingers through my hair. "It's going to be okay. Don't worry so much."
"Come on. Give me a kiss, you can't cry on our anniversary." He laughs, his hands already at my sides. "Oh my goodness, why aren't we celebrating? I just remembered I booked a restaurant for us last week."
"Can we just stay in bed?" He said in between coughs. I pressed my lips to his, grinning as my breathing evens out. "You win this time."
"Happy 4th year anniversary, babe." He whispers into my ear. "I love you, forever and always."
I wish moments like this would last forever.
