Chapter 36:

Cranky as hell. And then the fact that I dropped my bowl of cereal on the floor, lost my phone charger and tripped over my laundry basket. Life's great sometimes.

The day was soon coming to an end and I just finished up some few assignments. It had been a long day, but for some reason these days seemed to get longer. Dragging my feet to the carpark and crashed myself on the car seat.

Alfie kisses the top of my head, "How are you?"

I groaned, putting my knees up and hugged myself. "Cranky," I said. He strokes my hair with his hand, "Oh dear. Why?"

"Everything is going wrong," I whined.
He chuckles lightly, "Well I'm here now. So nothing can go wrong." I looked at him and rolled my eyes.

Fel, help me come to our house please help - Ana.

"Babe can we drop by my parents' house? Ana just texted me that she needed help, I'm worried." I said.

"Sure. I'll drive faster." He replies.

As Alfie drove nearer to my parents' house, I saw 3 police cars and a SWAT van race into the driveway. The police officers sprinted into the house and dragged out my father. I have no idea what's happening.

Ana then came running to our car, "Fel!" I heard her scream. Father looked at us and broke free from the police officers and pulled out a gun from his shirt, then all I heard was a loud bang.

"Ana please wake up, baby please wake up!" I said while shaking her body repeatedly. The paramedics carries my sister's unconsicous body in the van.

Tears were falling down my face as Alfie carried me into the car, quickly closing the door. "It's okay... You're okay..." He comforted, taking me with his free hand holding me close as the he followed the ambulance van.

I sat in the car, feeling my heart rush as we were getting nearer to the hospital.

Alfie was beside me, gripping my hand tightly. My chest was in pain. With my free hand, I went to brush hair out of my face, trying to play off some normalcy. When my hand was in front of my face, my jaw opened. It was shaking violently, and I realized the reason behind Alf's tight grip.

"Fel, you're alright. Stay calm."

"Alf, I-" I started, but my throat felt so tight I couldn't speak. "Fel, look at me." he said sternly, taking my face in his hands. "Look at me," he repeated.

"In and out babe. Look I'll do it with you." He looked into my teary eyes and began guiding me in a breathing exercise. "You're doing really good, a couple more." The light headed feeling had gone away and thanks to Alf, I had managed to control my breathing.

"That's it, just like this. It's okay." He gave me a reassuring smile. I reached out my arms to Alfie's and hug him as much as I can. "I love you so much, I love you, I love you so much, thank you." I said whilst hugging him.

"I love you more. Let's go in."
