Carmen took in a deep breath as she stood at the entrance to the building of the hockey rink. Her heart beat rapidly as her palms started to dampen at the uncertainty of what was to come. And although she did not want to face Taylor again, she couldn't find any reason to hide from him.

She exhaled and opened the door, immediately coming face to face with an angry guy. The two looked at each other surprised, before he spoke after recovering.

"Excuse me," he told her, walking past her and leaving the vicinity. She entered the building and closed the door behind her, immediately feeling the cooler temperature. She took several steps towards the rink but stopped once she heard a loud sound fill the silence.

She walked in the direction of the sound as it got louder and louder and ended up at the entrance to the male change room where she immediately stopped. She obviously knew that she didn't belong there but she couldn't push down her curiosity. And because of that, she entered without a second thought.

She stood by the wall which usually blocked a passerby's view and peeked inside. Immediately, her hands went to cover her mouth as she saw Taylor looking at a cracked mirror while blood dripped from his hand. Not thinking twice about her actions, she walked towards him and held his bleeding hand.

"You need to get that fixed," she said. He turned his head slightly and once he saw her, he jerked his hand away.

"Go away, I don't want to see your face right now," he muttered.

"But you need help─"

"I said GO AWAY!"

She jumped slightly at his change of tone and looked up to see that there were tears around his eyes.

"I didn't mean to yell but please, just go away."

"Taylor─"

"Seriously Carmen, can't you hear what I'm saying?!"

"I can hear you but I can't leave!" She replied in an equally loud tone.

"And why not?!" he countered.

"BECAUSE!"

There was a deafening silence which surrounded them as she tried to get her thoughts together. And once she had done that, she spoke again.

"We're in this together. We both made a mistake that night and now we have to live with it."

She watched as he looked from the mirror to her and she did something she never thought she would. She grabbed his other hand and placed it on her slightly protruding belly, feeling tears surround her eyes.

"I don't know about you Taylor but I want to keep this baby; whether you feel the same or not."

"Would everything be okay if we kept it?" he whispered, moving his hand across her belly subconsciously as he looked behind her.

"I don't know but for now, all we can do is wait and hope for the best."

And at that, he looked at her and a small smile appeared on his face. She smiled too as she looked into his eyes. And although she had said those words with confidence, that was far from how she felt.
