The morning approaches all too soon as I awake to Rabbit already dressing himself.
"Grey has called for a meeting at 9." He speaks quietly.
I groan seeing that it is already 8:45. I slip out of bed and quickly put my gear back on. We follow out of the room to the corridor of the bunker. The opening has sleeves stocked with massive amounts of food and a large wooden table at its center. Grey is sipping on, what looks to be like a cup of coffee, looking over a large map. Luke is already standing by his side pointing out different marks on the map.
I knock lightly alerting Grey and Luke that we are there.
"Good! Sam, Rabbit come here. I believe Luke and I have provided a perfect route to further help our trip west."
"And I know for a fact there is an even larger bunker then ours here in the city of Tacom. A friend of our family owns it. Though I was led to believe he has passed because before my family was murdered we lost contact with him a few weeks prior." Luke informs.
I look to Grey who nods he head. He has never led me wrong and for that I decide to inform the others myself. I excuse myself and make my way to Maura and Asher's room. I knock lightly awaiting the door to open.
"Yeah?" Maura says standing in the door.
"First I just wanted to apologize. Second, we will be leaving tomorrow to head west. There is a bigger bunk in Tacom that has more food."
Maura nods. "Thanks for the apology. I'll pass the info along to Asher."
She says no more instead slams the door in my face. I move on to the others, receiving a warmer welcome and much better perceived answer.
I venture up and out of the bunker, surveying the chard town. Not a single person is left, either still burning or dismembered. I look into every still standing building, finding everything a loss.
"Hey, don't you know your own rules?" Rabbit calls. "Never alone, always in pairs."
I laugh. "Yes, you are right."
He walks along side me, kicking the burning planks of wood out of the way. The strong scent of rotting flesh fills my nose, alerting me that we are no longer alone.
"Rabbit." I whisper. "Stay close."
He closes the distance between us grabbing his knife. I ready my gun, continuing to walk slowly towards the smell. It isn't much longer until we approach the smelly culprit. A dweller sits in front of us, feasting upon the dead. It stops, stands to its fullest ability and turns quickly towards us. It shrieks into the air, charging its long legs forward. I carefully aim my shot and send the dweller back to hell where it belongs. Before I can even turn to Rabbit we are both thrown across the way.
"Rabbit!" I yell.
"I'm ok!" He ensures. "Sam! Watch out!"
I look up seeing the creature lunging towards me. I retrieve my blade and bury it into the dwellers chest. It goes limp and falls to my side. I take a deep breath before quickly going for Rabbit.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Those dwellers, they are morphing. Becoming larger. Sam, what is going on?"
"I don't know, but let's get back to the bunker."
We head back and report to Grey. We all agree that more survivors are going to need weapons as dwellers now present a danger. I set out to search for Luke, in need for a first aid kit.
