"Here." I smile. "It's deer blood. It's different but it feeds the hunger."
"Thanks." Liam grins taking the vial.
"I'll be right back."

I rush out of the medical room and head towards the house we claimed as our own. I clear the steps with no issue, bursting into the room.

"Rabbit." I speak softly.

He doesn't answer me just stares blankly at the ceiling.

"Hey." I continue, sitting at the foot of the bed. "I promised I wouldn't leave you and I haven't."
"Stop the lying, Sam." He snarls.
"I'm not lying." I stress.
"Really? Then why didn't you let him die?" He shouts.
"Rabbit! That's not fair! He's my best friend." I defend.
"Best friend?" He shouts again. "You mean the man you are madly in love with!" He takes a deep breath. "Why the hell would you get involved with me? Fuck with my emotions when you knew if you found him, you would drop everything."

I look at Rabbit unable to give him an answer.

"That's what I thought." He spits. "This is my room now, I moved your stuff into the next room."

I get up slowly and remove myself from the room. I get to the steps of the porch and sit slowly staring towards the medical room.

"Liam is asking for you." Grey speaks softly.
"Thank you Grey."
"I won't be joining you, no. These old bones are going in for a nice hot shower."
I smile and nod him on. I head over to the medical wing, entering into Liam's room with a knock.

"Hey." He smiles.
"Hi, how are you feeling?"
"Alive." He jokes. "This feeling is so weird, like I've been reborn."
"Ew. No. That would make me your Mom."
He laughs. "No Sam, that wouldn't." He pauses. "You are my maker."
"Yeah, I guess I am."
"Better than Trek." He smirks.

I stare at him.

"What?" He smirks.
"S-sorry. I-I just can't believe you are in front of me. I've searched and searched and I was slowly giving up hope. I watched you die that day but I knew in my heart that you weren't gone. It didn't feel like you were gone."

He reaches out for me and pulls me in. He says nothing yet presses a kiss to my temple.

"Did you eat?"
"I did. You were right, it's going to take a little getting used too."
I nod slowly. "What did Trek feed you?"
He looks at me.
"Oh."
"Yeah, I don't want to ever go back to that."
"Well, you are not."
He smiles. "So, tell me about...hmmm, Rabbit?"
"Just a friend." I quickly dismiss.
"Ah, I think you are lying."
"No Liam." I snark.
"Fine, fine." He puts his hands up. "But I think he likes you."
I glare at him biting my lip.
He laughs. "Come here."
I meet his hand and wrap my arms around him.
"I've missed this." Liam speaks gently.
"Me too."
He brings his hands up, placing them on either side of my face. He slowly comes in and places his lips against mine. I keep my lips there, marveling in his touch. I feel the wetness of my tears slide down my cheeks. Liam breaks away from our embrace startled by my tears.

"Sam, Jesus you are bleeding!"
I laugh. "One of the shitty curses of being a hybrid. You cry blood tears."
"What? Well, that's rather annoying." He chuckles.
"Yes, yes it is." I agree.
He pulls me in once more, holding me close. "I'm so glad you found me."
"Me too Liam, you have no idea."

The rest of the day, Liam and I spend catching up. I don't see Rabbit anymore even when we partake in a light dinner in the dining hall. I opt to move into a different available house, getting what little I have from the house with Grey and Rabbit.

"Grey?"
"Yes?"
"Have you seen Rabbit?" I ask cautiously.
"He's over with Asher, I would give him some space though."
"Right." I nod and head towards the door. "Thank you."

I make my way back over to the new house and enter in seeing Liam sprawled out on the couch.

"Join me?"
I smile. " I would love too."

I sit next to Liam keeping a bit of space between us. He huffs.

"What is this?"
"Space?"
"Why?" He asks innocently.
"Because, it's been almost 7 months. I'm not sure where we stand, what side you are on, what your intentions may be."
He laughs in disbelief. "You think I would hurt you? You think I wanted to be apart of Trek's bastard army? I had too! I had to survive! I knew what he wanted and once it all started to add up, I knew you were the hybrid. It's why I told you I was glad you found me, instead of me finding you."
"But I didn't."
"Yes you did." He objects.

I sigh.

"I know this is a lot to handle, Sam."
"Trust me, I've been handling myself quite well." I snort.
"I can see that." He speaks softly.

A few minutes of an awkward quiet passes between us.

"Sorry." I mumble.
"There is no need to be sorry. It's like-like we are meeting for first the time all over again."

I look at him and smile.

"Random." He speaks out. "Do we ever get tired?"
I laugh. "I tend too."
He nods. "Do you want to head up to bed?"
"Yeah, I'm feeling quite exhausted from today actually. Mentally and physically."
"I bet." He says standing. "After you."

I turn and head for the steps. Everything feels like a dream, like Liam shouldn't be here and I should be climbing the steps to meet Rabbit. An anxious wave falls over me as I realize a night without him is ahead of me.

"Same room or different?" He asks.
"Same." I smile and pull him by his hand into the room.

We prep for bed before crawling in together. Liam's touch is foreign and I try convincing myself otherwise.

"You still smell very much like yourself."
I giggle. "Why wouldn't I?"
I feel him shrug."I don't know." He sighs. "Man, you are right. Exhausted doesn't even come close to how I'm feeling."
"That's normal with a newborn hybrid." I say turning over. "So hush and get some sleep."
"Yes ma'am." He smirks. "Good night Sam."
"Good night Liam."
