Author's note: I have changed the name of Aysha to Zayna so if you see any 'Aysha' just know it should be Zayna. Thank you for reading!

"Come on, I'm hungry" Ibrahim whines as he lays on my bed making a mess of my neatly made bed.
"It takes time to put a hijab on" I fight back. He rolls his eyes and I finish putting the last pin. We race downstairs and share pur breakfast.
"I don't get why you always take half of my food" I say. He shrugs.
"It's good to share"
I shake my head before we walk out of the door.
I enter school and am met with Ashley. She looks happy, like always.

We talk for a bit before the bell goes signaling registration. We walk to our classes and I take my seat. Ayaan comes in late... Again.
He sits next to me and smiles which I force back.
"That was so forced" he states making me try and hide the one coming.
"Why are you always late?" I ask.
"I have to take Yusra to school and we start at the same time so by the time I get here school's started"
"Oh" I say mainly because nothing else would come out.

I turn my head and look out of the window trying to occupy myself.
"Hey" he says.
"Yeah" I say turning.
"I'm bored"
"Congratulations" I say sarcastically whilst keeping a straight face on.
He rolls his eyes.
"I wanna talk" he whines.
"So talk"
"About what?"
"I don't know"
He looks at me for a while. Then puts his head down on the desk.
"I have something to say" I say as I remember.
"What" he says a bit too happily.
"When I first came here, it looked like everyone was scared of you, I mean it still looks like it. How come?"
He's silent for a while.
"I used to have anger issues and so the school to be wary of me and still is because they don't know that I've overcome it"
I nod.
"My turn, why is everyone scared of you"
I look at him in disbelief.
"You really don't know"
He shakes his head.
"I'm classed as a criminal, I'm known for several murders and extreme cases of fraud" I say honestly.
"Did you actually do it?" He asks.
I frown. No ones asked that before.
"Forget it. It doesn't matter" he waves off.
"Does that mean, I can't hang out with Yusra?" I ask hesitantly. I have to admit, I've been warming up to the girl.
"Are you kidding? She loves you. Why would I stop you guys?"
I shrug. The bell goes and I watch as everyone gets up.
"Come on Criminal, we have Physics" he says with a grin. He looks very adorable like that. I shake my head to rid the thought and follow him.
We enter Physics and I quickly race to my seat beating Ayaan since we always fight over that seat.
He sighs and sits next to me.
Ashley comes in and smiles at me.
"I see you have the seat you wanted" she says.
"Yep" I smile cheekily.
The teacher walks in making everyone go quiet.
He starts the lessons giving us questions sheets which was really easy, I remember learning about it when I was 13.

I was finished with my questions and looked around the room, everyone was still working though. I poked Ashley.
"I'm finished" I whisper since everyone was working in silence.
"Are you serious?" She asks in surprise.
I nod.
"But this is so hard. I'm stuck on question 3!"
I give a lopsided smile and help her.
"Zayna, Ashley why are you two talking?" Sir asks.
"I've finished my sheet and I was helping her" I say.
"Thanks for stealing my job" he jokes.
"No problem" I smirk. He smiles lightly and gives me another sheet then helps Ashley out. This teacher is so weirdly laid back, when I try my comebacks (even though I know they're not that good) he doesn't say anything, almost as if he enjoys them himself. Ayaan finishes a while later when I'm half way through the second sheet and he gets one too.
"You both are perfect for each other" the teacher says.
I frown but ignore it, he's probably talking about someone else.
"The two genius' of the class" Sir says and gives me a teasing look. That's when I know he's talking about me and Ayaan. Ew no way.
"Sir, do you need an eye test I think the old age is getting to you, it's making you see things that aren't there"
He grins.
"Why don't you make me one if you're so concerned?"
"I will don't worry."
Ayaan throughout all this said nothing so I poked him with my pen.
"Ow! What was that for?"
"Couldn't you hear what he was saying? Why didn't you say something?"
"What did he say?"
I give him an 'are you serious' look.
He shrugs and looks innocent.
"I have my earphones in that's why I didn't hear" he says after a moment.
He listens to music?
"You listen to music?" I ask.
"No, that's haram. I have surahs playing"
"Why?"
"I've got an Islamic test after school"
"That's pretty cool"
"Have you learnt any surahs?"
I nod with a small smile.
"Just a few"
I've actually learnt the whole of the Qur'an Alhamdulillah but I didn't want it to sound as if I was boasting. During the ten years I spent in jail I had a lot of freetime so I tried to use up my time wisely.
