I stare at them not even showing them any emotions. No anger, no stress, no worries nothing.
They look at me warily as if waiting for me to snap.I close my eyes and open them after a small silent sigh.
"Alex come to my room you will need to help me get ready" I say clearly and in command.
She nods in confusion probably because I have never spoken to her like that.
I walk to my room and walk inside the room full of my clothes. I pick out something simple and neutral to compliment my mood.Alex walks in just as I finish getting changed and walk out of the closet. She smiles at me hesitantly but I just show a forced smile.
"Are you ok?" She asks softly.
I take a seat on the spinny chair but just sigh dejectedly.
"No" I shake my head."You can talk to me if you want"
I can't. I will never be able to talk to anyone and expect them to understand.
"It's nothing. I'm being overdramatic" I wave off and sit up straight allowing her to put on some makeup on my face.
"Actually I think you're being underdramatic. If I was I'm your place I would throw huge tantrums"
"I'm not 6" I retort.
"I still don't understand how you are keeping calm after all this"
"What do you mean 'all this'?"
"Your life. You were jailed, everyone thinks you're one person but in reality you're a whole different person. Your father is very controlling and you have no mother's love. Yet despite all this you carry on being happy and mischievous and awesome! You're truly admirable" she smiles softly but she doesn't realise what a big mistake she's made saying all this."Thanks" I mumble. She finishes my makeup quietly without another word, before she leaves she smiles softly again but I don't respond.
I lean on the chair for a while thinking about what she said.Everyone thinks you're one person but in reality you're a whole different person
I sigh deciding to leave it for now and walks over to the dressing table to fix up my scarf.
"You alright sis" I look up at the mirror and see Ibrahim leaving against the back of the door.
I nod twice and continue putting the last pin in my scarf.
"You seem off though"
"I'm cool Ibrahim" I smile but even I know it's a fake forced one.He takes my hand.
"Trust Allah" he says. I stare at him for a while then smile thankfully and hug him.
"Thank you" I mumble into his shoulder."You should be going" he says quietly.
"It's only a few hours" I say to no one in particular.I get outside and instead of seeing Robert waiting next to the car. I see Ayaan leaning against the car. He smiles brightly when he sees me and I show a small smile back. How can he be so happy on just looking at me?
"Ready to go" he asks
I nod and get inside once he opens the door.
"Where are we going?" I ask
"Somewhere" he says smirking at the open road.
"You know if you're planning to kill me I highly doubt it'll work"
"Why's that?"
"Because I'm a criminal for murder so I don't think you'll be able to kill me"
"You know if I didn't know better then I'd think you want to get killed by me" he chuckles.
"It's a good thing you know better""Tell me about you criminal" he smirks as I roll my eyes at the awful name.
"You already know everything. I'm known as The Muslim Criminal, I have one weirdo brother, I'm working with my father, I'm not that sociable and I can get good grades"
"That's not everything" he grins.
"What do you want to know?"
"Favorite colour?"
"Don't have one"
"Favorite food?"
"Don't have one"
"Favorite animal"
"Lion"
"Seriously"
"Yeah. They're the top of the food chain plus they look awesome"
"Mines polar bear"
"Why?"
"They just look really cool"
I chuckle finally feeling better.
"Weirdo""What about favorite sport?"
"Have to say it's either basketball or football"
"I will so crush you in football"
"Is that a challenge?"
"Yes it is"
"Your on"
"We'll see criminal"
"Tell me where we're going"
"I said somewhere"
"You know because you're keeping it a surprise it better be a good enough place"
"Trust me it is"
