The ringing of my phone wakes me up from my not so peaceful sleep.
"Salaam" I say without looking.
"Walaikumassalam. Have you just woken up" I hear Chiefs voice.
"Yes because it's like 4am" I snap
"Wow, anyways I'm giving you 15 minutes to get ready and come to the station. We need to go somewhere"
"Where?"
"It's a surprise"
"The last you gave me a surprise I needed to go to the hospital"
"I didn't know you were allergic to lavender ok!" He defends making me chuckle as I get out of the bed. Chief gave me lavender flowers as a surprise, because his wife loves them he thought I would too. Instead I couldn't stop sneezing and I almost stopped breathing. We had to make an immediate stop to the hospital. Needless to say there was a lot of paperwork to do.
"Ok. I'm coming Assalamualaikum"
"Walaikumassalam"

I quickly get changed into a black skirt and white top. I grab my phone and then leave the room and walk into Ibrahim's. He's sleeping in his bed so I decide to leave him a note next to his bed since I couldn't be asked texting him.

I walk outside and into the car. I start driving to the station to meet Chief.
"Ok so where are we going?"
"Not telling but hurry" he walks outside quickly.
He gets into the car I got and I follow into the passengers seat.

We pass trees, a park and some medium size houses. The car stops after a really long time and I look outside.
"You got me to see some land and bricks?" I question
"Come on" he gets out of the car and I follow.

There are some workers building what I think is a house.
"This is the blueprint to the house they are making"
"Do you want me to give them a pat on the back? I don't get this. What does this have to do with us?"
"Once we finish with Nuh we need to boys to shift don't we?"
"Yeah?"
"But you've already made plans with the house you're currently living in"
"Yeah?"
"So the boys need a house"
"Oh so this if for them"
"Yes. God it took you long enough. So what do you think?"
I examine the blueprints and am pleased with it.
"This house is a little far away from Ayaan's house, it'll take you about three to four hours to reach here"
I groan
"I was hoping for something a little more closer"
"Sorry, this is all I could get."
I make a face and he chuckles.
"Now, I know you wanna help out so go on"
I grin and join the workers.

I take the barrel of cement and start putting the bricks together. I work for about three hours when I realise everyone will be awake now and looking for me.
"We need to go" Chief says.

I sneakily enter the house and rush to my room to change since my clothes were very dirty.

"Hey bro" I say to Ibrahim when we walks in my room.
"Don't 'hey bro' me! Where were you?"
"I-"
"I woke up and went to your room but you weren't there. I checked the whole house but I didn't find you then I see that one of our cars is missing so I knew you went somewhere. But you didn't tell me.anything! I called you but you didn't answer, now its lunch time and you've just came!"
"I wrote you a note" I point out.
"Well I didn't see it"
"I went to see Chief Yusuf. The note was right next to you on your bedside table"
He looks sheepish making me raise an eyebrow at him.

"Sorry. Anyways I have some news you won't be happy with" he looks serious
"Don't tell me then" I shrug.
"I kinda need to. Your nikkah is today"
"My what?" My eyes widen. "So soon?"
He nods sadly.
"But he didn't give me any warning"
"I know, he decided today that's why I was looking for you. I overheard him talking to mum about it"
I clench my teeth together in anger to stop me from shouting, my fists are clenched and I take a deep breath.
"He's planning on surprising you"
"Ok" I finally say.
"That's it? That's all your going to do"
"Ibrahim, you're cool with me marrying Ayaan aren't you?"
"Well yeah but-"
"Then that's all I need. You're happy with him and approve him so then I will marry him"
"But Affa listen-"
"I know it's all too fast but it's only the Nikkah it's not like I'm going to move into his house today" I brush off.
Ibrahim doesn't say anything. He stares at the ground instead.
"Ibrahim, bro I'm starving. Can we eat?" I say with my stomach rumbling. He has a small smile on his face and we go downstairs.
