"Sans!" Please! Its cold, come back here!!! You felt the chilled winds sting your face as you rushed through the path of the wintery forest. !
"Sannnnsss" you yelled your voice being carried through the forest. You're only reply was the soft cries of various animals. "damn it",you muttered as you kept running along the path calling out to sans.

"Sans! Get your furry butt over here",you said seeing a furry thing not too far off.

You began to run again despite the stinging in your lungs.

You felt as you toppled forward, tripping on god knows what. Luckily a blanket of snow prevented you from losing your face. Sans came bounding towards you licking your face and sniffing you. You kept yourself down, and suddenly sprang up " gotcha!" You yelled clamping the leash back on to his collar. "Whew, you little trouble maker", you said relieved that you finally caught the silly dog. His bright blue eyes looked at you innocently, he then switched attention to something behind you. You turned to see what had caught his interest, holding tightly to his leash not wanting another chase incident.

You were shocked, you hadn't tripped over something, you had tripped over someone!

Sans sniffed the person, whose hood covered them up. You quickly pulled the hood off and gasped. A rather short skeleton in a fur jacket lay unconscious. Monsters and people tended to not really come up to this part of the mountains so seeing the skeleton was a surprise . You checked and you were surprised to see that he was breathing heavily, a light blue blush tainted his cheeks and sweat beads formed on his skull despite the cold.

You were relieved but had another problem, what were you going to do? He was short but you guessed that if he stood he would go to about your shoulder. You didn't think you could carry him by yourself.

An idea popped into your head, you had abandoned your sled somewhere and you figured it couldn't be too far away. "Come on sans we need to look for the sled and quick", you said tugging him with you, the skeleton made a strange sound but remained still . You pulled your jacket off and placed it on him. "Don't worry we will help you", you said as you went to find the sled.

You found it, red and waiting for you someways down the path, you tied sans to it and hurried back.

"Okay", you said as you brought the sled close to the skeleton. You checked him and sighed in relief he was still alive. You didn't question that statement, because he was a monster, living despite his skeletal features. Though you couldn't say you were well versed on how to help him other than getting him somewhere warm and safe.

You wrapped your arms under him and dragged him backwards you tried to be be as gentle as possible frightened to break one of his chilled bones. In the distance a wolf howled and you felt yourself fill with determination to hoist the skeleton onto the sled. You huffed seeing your breath in the cold air.

"We got to beat the snow", you said as you began to head to the cabin, sans helping tug the skeleton.

You pushed in the door after fumbling with the keys, with your numb fingers. You pulled the sled in and collapsed in the door way. Sans tugging on his leash and trying to reach you, letting out a whine. You shook your head " we all have to get warm", you said forcing yourself up. With numb hands you pushed wood into the fire place and began fire. After you could feel your fingers a bit more you turned your attention to the skeleton. You untied sans and pulled the sled to the middle of the living room. He let out a small noise and stirred a bit but stayed unconscious. You quickly filled a bowl with cool water and placed it on his skull. You quelled the urge to touch his skull in curiosity. His breathings died down a bit and the strain on his face calmed. You removed your jacket and replaced it with a lighter blanket.

After all that you sat head against the couch, sans roaming the house as usual. He ignored the skeleton to your own relief. "What am i going to do?", you asked yourself looking into the fire, it was dark and had started snowing. You didn't have a working vehicle and the nearest hospital was about a mile off in one. Not only that but you didn't really know how to help him.

You found yourself eyeing him from your position, his blanket moving up and down. He seemed to be sleeping now. You got up and walked over to him "maybe he has an id or some kind of contact information, someone who can come over and help him more than me " you rationalized. Awkwardly you reached into his jacket pocket, finding nothing. You leaned over him to reach his other pocket pausing to make sure he was still asleep. You reached in and felt a square thing. As you backed away you felt a hand grab your wrist. A boney hand, it lead up to a wide awake skeleton. You gasped dropping the rectangle that was a cellphone. "Can..i ask what you are doing?" The skeleton's voice was deep and smooth like warm coffee on a cold day. You stared at him mouth agape and sputtered an explanation "the forest,i found you in the forest",you said gently. He looked at you then the wash cloth that had fallen off when he sat up, the fire place, to the sled and then back to you. He slowly let go of your wrist. " you brought me here on your own?" He asked surprise in his voice. You nodded 'well i had a little help",you said. As if on cue your dog bounded into the room sniffing you in happiness. The skeleton watched as the your dog sniffed around and then he paused looking at the awake skeleton. Both staring at each other, blue clashing with white. Sans approached him carefully, bringing his nose right where the skeletons nose would have sat if he had one. He took a big whiff before happily licking the skeleton. You released a breath you had been holding in, and you pushed up. You found yourself liking the skeletons laughter, it was deep and lively. He pushed the dog back "down boy, wow your dog sure is nosey" you paused and laughed completely caught off guard. The skeleton seemed pleased with your reaction.

You pulled the dog off "sans that isn't very nice, stop being so dog-gone silly" you said. This was answered with another round of laughter. You felt the tension melt away.

After a moment, you noticed the skeleton staring at you. " what..is your dogs name?"

"Huh?, oh his names is sans, like comic sans"

After you said that the short skeleton began to laugh harder then ever falling back.

" oh...gosh...the comedy Gods are so...funny" he said wiping away tears. You were surprised that he could have tears.

"What?" You asked rubbing sans fluffy ears.

The skeleton stopped and looked you in the eyes, he held out his hand and you reached to take it. You helped him up, and he gave you a look that made your knees weak.

Still holding your hand he shook it " hello, my name is sans, Sans the skeleton. "

You blinked " what?"

He laughed " my name is sans"
