I'm going to put a warning, this is a little darker one shot.

Sans stops reader from jumping from a building top, if you're sensitive to this type of matter, skip this chapter.

And remember there are people who can and will help you if you need it, so don't be afraid to speak up.

The air was thick, and it blew like there was no tomorrow, as the stars twinkled.

You sighed, you had been sitting there for God knows how long, swishing this one glass of vodka.

You had, had a full bottle of vodka, but now it was nearly empty.

Taking the last glass you got up, feeling the winds encourage you towards the edge of the building, your legs trembled but you managed to walk over, eyeing the bottom.

You took a step back, and moved the drink towards your lips, "to life" you muttered.

"..to life?"

You turned quickly, startled at the sudden voice next to you.  There was a skeleton next to you, he had his 'eyes' out in front seemingly enjoying the view.

You inwardly sighed, you hadn't wanted this type of situation, someone here could get complicated. You looked tot the door to the roof, you swore you bad locked it. And now thinking on it, you hadn't heard foot steps or the loud whine the door usually gave off when opened.

So how did he..?

"Did I startle you?  I'm sorry, hey you okay?"

You broke from your thoughts when you realized that he was talking to you.

"Uh..no..it's fine"

You circled your arms around yourself, and kept your eyes forward, the glass almost painfully clenched in your fist.

You were now planning your next move, time was going and you would end up at the next place, waiting another day. You sighed now outwardly, did you even have one more day left in you?

"Its a really long way down, you know, life doesn't have resets, once it's over, it's over"

You tried to ignore him and pretend like the drink in your hand was interesting.

"It is so precious, the stars, I never thought I would ever get to see them, ya know? They are more beautiful than I had ever imagined."

You dug your fingers into your arm, feeling the anger and sadness and every emotion filling your body.

"The world, is so beautiful"

You felt your mouth twitch and you laughed, a laugh filled with anything but humor.

"Does anything matter? Why are you up here? To give me life lesson? Huh? You want to know something?  If I died, right now,  the stars would still be beautiful,  the sun would still rise in the morning, the whole world would move on and I would just be another number on today's mortality rate"

You moved a way from him and took the glass in shaking hands, surprised that the glass hadn't broken. You kept yourself right at the edge, one step away from the ledge, one more after that ....

"..that's a horrible way to look on life, but I understand "

"You do? I have heard that before, so many times, can you just leave?"

"I wanted to give up, so many times, and I almost did, but I always keep going, ya know? Despite everything I always had something to hold on to, hope that I never knew I had"

You snorted and brought the glass upwards " hope, what a useless thing"

"You think so? Tell me, why are you up here tonight "

You turned to eye him "isn't it obvious?"

"Is it? You have been up here, talking to me right?"

You shook slightly, the air suddenly feeling chilly. "You don't know me, it doesn't matter to you"

"No, I don't know you, but I know that look in your face, in your eyes."

"Exactly what look is that?"

"You don't want this, you want someone to notice"

You felt a slight jolt and you pushed the glass onto the floor "I... have to go" you turned to go when he grabbed your wrist.

"Are you going to come here tomorrow? "

You paused "does it matter?"

"It matters, remember there is someone who really cares about you out there and you say the world will move on, well to the people who care about you, their worlds end"

You stayed hand on the door, eyes filled with tears, your heart aching, all you could see was your moms crying face, your best friend blaming themselves.

You paused again, feeling your heart ache and you felt conflicted.

"Look, I can't make you do anything,  heck we don't even know each others names but I will be here tomorrow, and the next day and the next, I will be here as long as it takes to see you not do this"

"Why..would you do this?"

"Because how could I leave someone like this? When I could do something "

You sighed and nodded

"It sounds strange from someone you don't know right? , he reached his arm out, my name is Sans, Sans the skeleton "

You looked at him, "(y/n), (y/l/n)"

"Now we aren't strangers"

You stayed next to Sans, it had been almost a year since, you had met him on that very roof.

You looked back on why you had gone up their in the first place, all those problems you had that drove you up there, were now nearly gone.

"Sans why..did you help me that day?"

He had been quiet, eyes closed, enjoying the warm summer air, he opened his eyes, they shine in the twilight.

"I couldn't leave you after I saw that look on your face "

You nodded "Sans..when you said you understood.. "

He shook his head " seeing you up here was like looking into a mirror, I had seen too many deaths happen, where I couldn't do anything about them, I..promised never again"

You looked at him and leaned up placing a kiss to his cheek bone "thank you"

He placed a small kiss to your forehead "don't thank me, I only pushed you into the help you wanted"

There was silence between the two of you, a comfortable silence, you looked to the stars,  they were beautiful,  and with Sans they became precious.

You were getting better, much better and you were glad to have Sans by your side, to help support you.
