Chapter Thirteen
Jaden got me up after I almost slept through her blaring alarm. It was crazy sometimes I could sleep though a marching band and other times I couldn't sleep through someone whispering in the next room. She then helped me figure out what to wear. I ended up with black jeans and a medium green long-sleeved shirt with a U-shaped neck. It showed off my collar bones very well and even had the first year symbol on the left side.
Jaden said it might be a bit cold outside since its technically winter all the time around here. So I grabbed a black blazer that also had the first year symbol on it and stuffed it into my school bag for when I needed it.
I also had a couple note books and the tablet type thing I got that holds all my text books in it. But that's all it does sadly.
In the main living area there was Tela waiting for us while chatting to Sofie and Talia. When she saw me, her smile brightened. "You ready for your first day?" She paused, "of course you are. But we do need to head out early. You need to meet your teachers before class so they can fill you in on a little bit of the stuff you missed these past two weeks that school has been going on."
I nodded and took a deep breath. "Let's do this."
I didn't watch where I was going yesterday when we headed to my room, but now I tried to watch where we were headed so I could remember my way to class without Tela's help. However, that was basically impossible.
This school was all over the place. Trap doors, moving walls, mirror doors, secret staircases. It had everything. And Teal used it all. Didn't matter that I had no idea where we were anymore, my sense of direction was completely gone by the time she stopped outside the door to my first class.
"I have no idea where we are," I said while looking at her nervously.
She laughed, "you'll get the hang of it, but for now I'm here to help. Now c'mon inside and meet your Geography professor."
She opened the door and led me over to the teacher's office at the other end of the lecture hall. This room was crazy big and very intimidating. It had at least 500 seats in it, maybe more. I tried not to notice, but it was very hard not to see that this was going to be one pretty big class. Maybe they wouldn't notice a new kid coming in after two weeks of classes. Yes, Eve. Look at the plus side of things.
Tela didn't even have a chance to knock on the door and the professor stepped out like he was expecting us. The first thing I noticed were his scary eyes. They were pale blue. A pale enough blue that it almost blended in with the whites of his eyes. It was very scary.
"Professor Asher," he held his hand out for me to shake and I shook it, trying to look everywhere but in his eyes.
"Eve Howe." I said then looked at Tela and back to him.
"Ah yes, the new wizard student." He smiled slightly. He suddenly seemed older than he looked at first. "I hear you are from Earth."
It wasn't a question but I nodded anyways.
"Good, then you have much to learn about everything. I saw your grades from your old high school and they were good, very good. Keep that up here and you'll do just fine."
I nodded and again, "I'm excited to learn all of these new things that no one I know from back home knows." Which was the truth. Its like I was shown a whole new world. (Not in the Disney sense.)
This only made him smile even more.
He explained to me a little bit about what I had missed and gave me some notes that I missed and told me to ask questions if I needed to. Then the class room started to fill up with students so he started writing notes on the board and left me to get settled.
