"That obvious." The witch said scrunching her nose."Not to many people have that lovely shade of green skin complexion." Regina said sarcastically.
"Yes well," The witch said poofing Regina's needle away. "You can call me Zelena." She said as Regina realized what was missing from her hand.
"Oh," Zelena said poofing the needle in her hand. "You won't be needing this anymore." She said and threw the needle in the air and watched as it poofed away in a green smoke.
Regina let out a sigh.
"What? Has life got you down?" Zelena asked.
Regina shot a glare at her.
"Well, I have good news and I have bad news." Zelena said walking over to Regina. "Let's start with the good news shall we, I like to leave the best for last." she said sitting down by Regina.
"So, you know how you thought you were all alone, and you were the only one left in the family? Well your not." Zelena smiled. "Turns out your dear mother Cora, is also my mother."
Regina looked over at Zelena with eyes wide.
"Yes yes I know, I'm green and all that. Well Cora abandoned me when I was a baby and these people took me in, but turns out I was never wanted. Blah blah blah. I'm boring you aren't I? You don't care about me. But anyways one thing led to another, I'm here and I'm green and I'm your sister."
"That's supposed to be good news?" Regina said sarcastically.
"Compared to the bad news, yes." Zelena smiled. "The bad news is I hate your guts."
"Get in line" Regina said.
"Yes well I'm not an enemy you should take lightly. I am going to take everything you ever had, and there's nothing you can do about it."
"Is that supposed to frighten me, sis" Regina threw at her. "There is nothing you could do to me that hasn't already been done."
"I know you clearly don't care about your own life, but I know who you do care about, your son." and with one last wicked smile the witch vanished in a swirl of green smoke.
Regina's breath hitched in her throat as Zelena's words rung in her ears. How could she know about her son. Did she know where he was? Could she get to him? Could she hurt him? Regina began to panic. She couldn't catch her breath, she tried to steady herself and put her hand on the bench. No she couldn't let this witch scare her. She was going to protect her son. She was going to defeat Zelena like every other obstacle she's overcome. For Henry.
Regina forced herself to stand up and she walked back to her bedchambers. "You didn't go threw with it." David's voice reminded her that he was still there, and stuck to the floor.
She sighed and flicked her hand at his feet, releasing him "No, I didn't."
"Why?" David asked curious.
"You sound disappointed." Regina said.
"No I jus-"
"The person that broke in to the castle," Regina interrupted David's rambles. "Is the wicked witch, I found out that she is also my sister." Regina said releasing a deep breath. "I don't think you and your army of dwarves are going to be able to defeat her without me."
"Oh," David said. "Well do you know what she wants?"
"To take everything I ever had away from me." Regina said plainly trying to sound as if she wasn't effected by the witches threat.
By nightfall all of the villagers were settled in the castle. Snow had insisted that the thief stayed in the castle as well, saying it to be a safer place for him and his son while the wicked witch was still out there. Robin accepted and him and his whole group of merry men moved in. Regina wasn't the least bit excited about it but she couldn't turn the little boy away. She had a soft spot for the boy and she couldn't deny it.
Everyone was asleep or at least that's what Regina thought. Regina was having another restless night and no matter what she did she could not get to sleep. Her thoughts took her back to that day in the woods when she had ripped out her heart. David had somehow talked her into putting her heart back in but she didn't know how.
And then how she let herself cry in front of him, let herself be so vulnerable in front of him. But he didn't judge her for her outburst. He held on to her, he comforted her as much as she hated to admit it. She could almost picture it all happening again, she thought she would regret letting David see her like that, but she didn't. And it was killing her thinking about it.
After a long while the queen finally dozed off into sleep.
She was in a dark room until she heard her son yell "mom!" and a wicked laugh arose in the darkness and the owner of the vile laugh turned on a single light.
The light shone above her son, Henry.
"Henry!" She yelled trying to run to him, but fell to the ground as she was pulled back by shackles around her ankles. She tried to free herself but she couldn't get loose.
"As enjoyable as this is..." The wicked witch said walking into the light by her son. "I have something better in mind." She said plunging her hand in his chest and pulling out a glowing red heart.
"No!" Regina yelled making another attempt to run towards her son, only this time the shackles had disappeared and she was able to run to her son, but it was to late Zelena had already crushed his heart to ashes. Regina was able to catch her son before he hit the ground and she sat down with him laying across her lap.
"I was right, this was more enjoyable." Zelena said and disappeared in a swirl of green smoke.
"Henry!" Regina yelled holding onto her son. "Henry, come back to me!" she said gripping him tighter and pulling him closer.
Regina shot out of sleep and was panting, sweat was rolling down her forehead. She couldn't catch her breath, the dream just felt so real. She thought the witch had really gotten to Henry and she had- tears pricked in her eyes thinking about losing Henry and how she couldn't save him.
Regina was still shaking in bed her hands clutched her sheets in fists. "It wasn't real, it wasn't real," she repeated to herself trying to convince herself.
"But I am." a voice spoke from the corner of her room.
Regina looked at the silhouette amongst the shadows and caught the slight glimmer of green on her face.
"Zelena." Regina breathed out.
"I told you sis, don't take me lightly." Zelena said and vanished in a swirl of green smoke.
