Regina opened the door to the room and walked to the round table where Snow and David already sat. The room was silent.

"So quiet." Regina said sarcastically taking a seat one chair separated from Snow and across from David.

"Regina this is serious." Snow said through warning eyes.

"Alright so tell us so we know what to be serious about." Regina said.

Snow took a deep breath looking down at the table for a moment. Releasing her breath she looked back up.

"When I walked in that door, Glinda came to me she already knew I came to ask about Zelena. So I asked her how to defeat her and she told me the only way to do so was with the strongest light magic." She said looking up to David.

"I left but I still wasn't sure how we could find someone who possessed light magic. That's when I realized the only person I knew that had light magic was our daughter, Emma." Snow said leading on for what was really making her dread this conversation.

"Well we can't very well travel between worlds and get her, now can we?" Regina said.

Snow sent Regina a frosty glare.

"We're going to enact the dark curse." Snow said.

If the room was silent before, it was a deafening silence now.

"Have you lost your mind!" Regina yelled dumbfounded. "In order to enact the curse you have to crush the heart of the thing you love most." Realization hit her like a truck and it seemed to hit David at the same time. They both looked at each other with wide eyes.

Without word Regina pushed herself from the table and left the room leaving David with Snow.

A pregnant pause went by before David spoke up, "Now what?"

Snow looked down at the table nervously. "I don't know."

David got up from his chair and left Snow. Once outside the room he followed the direction of where Regina had turned. "Regina!" He shouted once reaching her. "Regina!" He said grasping her arm and pulling her to face him.

"I have to go make preparations for this curse." Regina said trying to avoid eye contact.

"But I don't love Snow back, it wouldn't work." David said confused.

"I know." Regina said, looking into his eyes hoping he would get the message and she wouldn't have to say it.

"You're going to crush my heart..." David said.

"No, David." She said placing both her hands on each side of his face. "You're going to crush mine." She said looking back and forth between his two eyes searching for how he was going to react.

"No, no I won't." He said shaking his head.

"David please, you have to. You won't need me in storybrooke and they would notice Prince Charming gone. You have to find your daughter and stop Zelena or who knows what she'll do. It's the only way." Regina said with tear filled eyes.

David's eyes were just as full with tears and as he placed his hand on her hand that was on his face he brought a gentle kiss to her palm. A single tear trailed down his face. "I'll notice you missing though."

"That's the bad part." She said looking down at his chest breaking eye contact before looking back up to say what was gonna kill her.

"You will be the only one that remembers anything that happened this year. I'll make you the exception to this curse and leave you your memories but I'm going to have to take everyone else's memories so they won't know I'm... So they will stay focused on finding Emma. You have to convince them to find Emma." Remembering her was the bad part, if she could make him forget about her at least she knew he would be at peace.

"Regina." He sighed. "I don't think I can do this."

"You have to." Regina assured him.

David nodded his head still not wanting to agree. How could he ever hurt the person he came to love. Yet here they were and the person he loved was exactly the person who was asking him to hurt her. This was the last thing in the world he'd ever want to do.

"Meet me in the abandoned part of the castle tonight. I'll have everything ready by then." Regina said stroking her thumb over the sticky trail of his fallen tear before turning and walking away.

Regina let her tears fall freely now. She turned the corner and rested against the wall for support. She had to be strong to get him through this. Because she knew that if he saw one sign she was scared he wouldn't do it. Truth was she was scared. She was terrified.

The thought of dying wouldn't leave her head. Not ever being able to see her son again could of made her completely shatter right there. There was nothing she wanted more than to be in David's arms where she felt safest.

Pushing past the feeling she leaned off the wall and walked down to her chambers in a dazed sort of state. She never imagined that this was where she would end once she arrived back at the enchanted forest. She also never imagined she'd fall in love with the prince.

Now her only concern was if being soulmates was stronger then true love. Maybe that was what was racking in her brain so much. What if she died for nothing. She would never know.

Regina opened the door to her room and stepped inside. It was time to start working on the curse, wether she was prepared or not.
